Hi,
I just wanted to start a thread for people applying to UCLA's new grad program this year. I have filled out the application online, but wondered if I should send a hard copy too. Does anyone else have any information? I heard that for the last new grad class, they had more than 800 applicants for 80 slots. Kind of discouraging...
I also called HR today to make sure there were no discrepancies in my application (I just got married and I'm in the middle of a name change) and she said just to bring my information in if I am to get an in-person interview. I too, had a phone interview with TalentSupply and asked when would be the next time we would be contacted if we were moving forward. She said "within the next week or so"....So I guess we might have to wait a little longer then Friday if we are indeed getting interviewed...
The process for me was: I found out what day/hour they were taking applications (it doesn't say on the website, you have to call), had my application ready, applied within minutes of the open window, prepared my references to respond within 24 hours to the request for online survey, got the Talent Plus email within a few days of applying and did the phone interview the next week, waited four weeks between that and the call for the in person interview with the nurse recruiter, and am scheduled for the interview with the unit director after that. They told me this morning that we are only allowed to interview for one position, which (if correct) is different than they've done it in previous cycles, and certainly adds to the pressure. No second chances...
BTW, this is my second time applying. I applied last spring - a few days late because I didn't have enough information - and never got a call or email back. So I did it differently this time. Maybe they have so many applicants that they get as many as they need within the first day or so. That's just my guess...I don't know for sure.
But I do know that the people on this thread have been invaluable for information sharing and emotional support! Good luck, everyone!

update: I called HR and was told that if you are moving forward you will hear by the end of this week OR the end of next week. (which is different from what the Nurse recruiter told me earlier today about being notified by the end of this week) SO... Keep sending those positive thoughts!
