Hello,
This is for those who applied to UCLA's Summer 2014 New Graduate Residency program, to exchange information and questions.
Thanks! :)
I had my 2nd interview today. I think it went well but it was hard to read how she was feeling about it vs the first interview. I did my best to answer her questions. One of the nurses that interviewed me during the first interview remembered me, so I guess thats good to be remembered, however I asked how many positions she had available she said 6 new grads and 8 experienced internal RNs. We'll hear back from recruitment, not the director, Mid June. Do you know how many made it to the second interview?
She told me about 20 candidates for 6-8 spots (for the new grads, I'm assuming).

Hello friends! Congratulations on going so far! I was not selected for a second interview or sent a reference request for NTICU so I want to ask you guys about your stats... I'm hoping there's something I can do to improve by the next cohort!

I'm so sorry to hear that. That has to be a terrible feeling but stay motivated and keep searching, something will come up.

I feel that there is more to it then STATs. I honestly think it's about timing and what unit managers are looking for and how they think the candidate will perform and/or mesh with the existing staff and/or unit. It's a combination of possible life experience, hospital/medical experience and education experience. Just my two cents! Good luck to all!!!

Yes, it can be! Which is why I'm interested in hearing about people's experience and see what I can do to improve. Nevertheless, congratulations to all of you, everyone here is more than just stats!
I was selected for a position and I will be looking for a room mate in September! If anyone is interested/ moving from out of state let me know! Good luck to all who are still awaiting answers, and good luck to all those applying to the next cohort. I have had countless failures before this, so everyone just keep trying and it will be worth it! :)
