UCLA New Grad Summer 2014

Published

Hello,

This is for those who applied to UCLA's Summer 2014 New Graduate Residency program, to exchange information and questions.

Thanks! :)

That is awesome, Kelligram! Did you get an email offering you the job? And also what is the start date? Thanks!

I got a phone call from HR offering me a position on behalf of the CTICU unit manager. The start date for orientation will be September 8th. What unit did you apply for?

Congratulations kelligram! That's wonderful news! May I ask you when you received your reference check, and how soon had all your references had completed the survey? Additionally, what time during the day did you receive the phone call? Thanks for your input. :)

I had to complete a reference check immediately after I scheduled at interview (I think its because I'm from out of state), I completed it within 24 hours because I thought that was the time limit. I called my references and told them it was due ASAP. I knew if I gave them a few days it would take forever. They were all able to get it done. It was about 3:00 Pacific time when they called me.

Congrats kelligram on the offer! That is really exciting.

To anyone freaking out that they haven't heard yet from the CTICU: In the past they called people with offers over the course of a week (or more). So no reason for panic! Good luck to everyone else still waiting. I know I am pretty anxious.

I applied for a position in the ER. My understanding is that they have only one position, and they have at least 3 candidates who went to the 2nd round (including me). Sounds like the September 8 start date will be the same for everyone.

Was anyone able to find out how many positions CTICU has for the residency?

Has anyone heard from the NICU?

Hi everyone! I interviewed with the Perinatal department, and received a 2nd interview the following day (because I am from out of town). However I did not receive a reference check. I wonder if this means I was not chosen :( . Has anyone heard anything from perinatal yet? Good luck to everyone!
