UCLA New Grad Summer 2012 program

Published

Damn I drove 6 hours to LA to find out that I may have to drive back for a 2nd interview if picked to move on. gahhhh how many other units are having a 2nd interview for potential new grad employees? I'm interviewed for the PICU today

I interviewed for PICU. Wondering what their timeline is!?

I interviewed forNICU and got the same response, but they told me they were looking to hire two- three applicants only. I was the first interview of the day, so maybe they changed their mind's as the day went on.

I also interviewed for NICU and was told I did a great job. Though they also said I didn't even seem nervous, which was completely NOT true! haha

I was feeling more confident until now that it seems like they praised everyone. But 5-6 hires out of 10 actually isn't too bad of odds. Especially when you compare it to 1,800 or so applicants to the entire program.

Good luck everyone. Now we sit and wait by the phone for months! :w00t:

Did any of you who interviewed for the NICU do your preceptorship or an externship in the NICU? How extensive is your NICU experience?

To those that applied for peds did you have two interviews?

I had an interview for the NICU, and I did my preceptorship in the NICU. Did any of the other NICU interview people have an internship or preceptorship in the NICU?

They only interviewed 10 people yesterday for the NICU?

Did anyone else have their interview for MICU today at RR?

Has anyone that interviewed for NTICU heard anything about a follow-up interview? Wondering also how many of us are there and does anyone remember how many M/S experienced nurses she was going to interview? How do they qualify for a new grad position if they are experienced M/S nurses?

There's about 6 of us on here that got asked for a second interview. I don't believe any of us have heard back yet and I think it'll be a few days until we do. Don't know how many med-surg nurses she interviewed but I guess they have to go through all the same training and classes to work in ICU, even if they have experience.

thanks for the feedback
