Hi I recently applied for the Spring 2024 cohort and didn't see a thread yet. How is everyone's application going?

I received an email today stating the application has been forwarded to the hiring manager for further consideration, and the hiring manager will reach out for an interview if they decide to move forward.

Hi, I also received an email today that my application has been forwarded to the hiring manager. Is this a good sign? This is my first time applying. I applied to the NICU

In theory - as long as the application is complete and we did the assessment, our application should be moved on to a hiring manager right? It may not be for the unit we wanted but they will pass it on? Or is HR weeding through apps and only selecting specific ones to go to hiring managers?

Not entirely sure but from what I heard from other students, there is some type of weeding out bc HR will only send a certain # of applications to the managers. For instance Those who don't meet minimum qualifications will not be sent. Also some managers have specific things they want HR to look for so that also determines whether or not they will send out the applicant info to the managers.

I see, thank you! Did you have your senior preceptorship in NICU? I wonder how they decide who gets moved on. Hopefully they reach out soon with more info!

I ddnt have a preceptorship in the NICU. My school unfortunately does not give us the option to choose our specialty. During my maternity rotation, I spent 4 shifts in the neonatal ICU and intermediate care nurseries. I also did a nursing internship this past Summer and I had some NICU experience there too. I'm not sure how much they take into consideration having NICU experience
