Hello to all prospective UCLA Nurses!
My name is Matthew and I'm a CSU Long Beach alumnus.
I'm currently working as a Super User RN for the UCLA Health System.
I hope this thread will be able to answer our questions about the application, interview process and a place for any updates anyone receives for the 2013 new grad program.
With that said, I was told by recruitment that applications will be made available in March. :)
Can you give a little info on what exactly this reference email is all about? How many does it ask for and is it in addition to the reference letters you gave on the first interview? Do they ask for people to contact or does it ask for references to go back and complete info?
@UCIRN I didn't get the reference thing emailed to me, but I was a super user at ucla and I've completed one before, so I'm hoping it just stayed on my application/log in.. I'm going to call HR tomorrow and ask. Did Coleen tell you a date she hoped to make decisions by? I forgot to ask her because she asked me to come back for the second interview, so I meant to ask them, but forgot :/

They email you something that asks for 4-5 references & their emails. Then ucla emails your references a link to a bunch of questions that needs to be filled out asap. All references must complete it in order for the system to combine all responses and create a summed up reference.
Attention:Calling all my Liver ICU applicants , the UD just emailed me saying she is currently reviewing all her applicants and making final decisions... So we will know REAL soon . (fingers /toes crossed and prayers in full effect !)
Good Luck to us all !!!
Thisdoll,
Thank you for the info. God bless.
It didn't really sound like a second interview it sounded more like touring the unit to me. I would be a little sad if I had my references checked for nothing. It took so much effort for me to get all my references to complete the survey when they're so busy as is![/quote']I completely agree. So much work I that I hope pays off in the end.

She does not do second interviews (check forums from past cohorts) ... every UD has a different approach . I think hers is the least complicated lol , but oh well , who knows what she's thinking ... I'm just staying positive !
