UCLA New Grad RN 2013

Hello to all prospective UCLA Nurses!

My name is Matthew and I'm a CSU Long Beach alumnus.

I'm currently working as a Super User RN for the UCLA Health System.

I hope this thread will be able to answer our questions about the application, interview process and a place for any updates anyone receives for the 2013 new grad program.

With that said, I was told by recruitment that applications will be made available in March. :)

I got an email yesterday saying that I got a second interview for the PICU later this month. Keep checking.

Does anyone know if the 2nd interviews take place at the hospitals or at the same location as the first?

I just checked my application status and still says assessment completed. I am hoping that my application will go through. I wish more hospitals will accept new grads this is so fustrating. You would think getting through nursing school is hard enough but I feel like finding a job is worse than any final.

I completely agree, it's very hard and at times frustrating but we just have to stay positive! Just remember, all of us new grads are in the same boat and eventually we'll all be employed nurses :) it'll require a lot of patience but all of your hard work will pay off in time

checking your email! I received my interview invitation email later than most people so maybe they are sending the references in groups as well. Ill keep my fingers crossed for you!

I have a BSN from MSMC. What about you?

anybody get denial letters yet for the cticu? or are we going to have to wait till the whole process is done =/

I hope we don't have to wait for everyone to finish to hear one way or the other! For those doing the references, how many are you putting down all 5? Or did you hear 4 is enough, if you have two managers??

Haven't heard anything yet. Had my second interview on the 17. For those who interviewed for Santa Monica med-Surg ICU, do you know when we're expected to hear back?

Also, I think each unit will hear separately from my experience. Whether its a rejection or offer. I was also told the unit I interviewed for would start aug 26, or close to that date-for those who asked. Good luck to all :)

I interviewed for CCU/ Med surg ICU as well manda527panda! I called HR yesterday and the lady said we still have to 2-3 weeks for them to make a decision and call. this waiting game is not fun but hopefully we both hear good news. Did your references finish completing the survey?
