Hi Meitelbach!Yes, I was accepted into the New Grad RN Residency program. I was offered a position in the Adult Inpatient Psych unit at the Resnick Hospital, but I am still going to attend the educational classes that all the new grad RN residents will be taking. I was told by the Clinical Nurse Educator in my unit that there are educational classes in the program that all new grads are supposed to take.
I hope this helps! :)
Congratulations and thank you so much for responding! I am a student a UCLA and I will be applying for my immersion there, so hopefully I will be meeting you soon! I also did my clinical rotation on that unit.....it is my favorite! I would love to chat. Can you email me at [email protected] when you get a chance? Looking forward to hearing from you!
can't wait to meet everyone!

Thank you.
Starting my orientation next week! Seems like MICU is the only unit starting early. I'm the only external applicant it looks like and the other 4 are internal apps.FYI for those whos going to do their physical....occupational health(CHS) is INSIDE the school of medicine! I looked all over for this place. The directions they gave are very confusing. Basically 1) go through the doors of the school of medicine 2) go straight down the hallway and turn right 3) keep going and nursing resource (14-222) will be on your first right (thats where you will do your uniform fittings and new hire paperwork) but for your physical go straight until you see the O elevators. Go up and do your physical. They will take your urine and blood draws. The blood draw will test for missing titers and TB (first time I've heard of a TB screening through blood antigen). The new hire paperwork takes forever because you have to watch a welcome and benefits video and signing a lot of papers. Plan to be there for 2hrs+. Make sure you bring your Social Security card or passport AND your Driver's license.
GL and congratulations to those who got hired!! This is a magnet hospital!!! You should be very proud of yourselves.
Thanks for this. I would've searched a really long time if you didn't say Occupational Health is inside the School of Medicine.

Hi All,
I'll be applying for the Summer 2012 program. I was just wondering if any of you who have gone through the process know which, if any, specific units hire the most new grads. Would I have a better chance at Santa Monica?? Any help would be great.
Thanks!! And congrats to those that were hired!
