Can't believe I just found this thread! Has anyone besides MICU gotten a call for paperwork yet? Or do we do physical/background/paperwork at the same time? I also noticed the last New Grad cohort for UCLA started a private Facebook group. Someone want to start one for the heck of it?
I was wondring if you could clarify.....Does the position you were hired for participate in a new grad program? I know you applied through the program, but do you actually attend classes like the other new grads in the more "medical units"?

Yes, I was accepted into the New Grad RN Residency program. I was offered a position in the Adult Inpatient Psych unit at the Resnick Hospital, but I am still going to attend the educational classes that all the new grad RN residents will be taking. I was told by the Clinical Nurse Educator in my unit that there are educational classes in the program that all new grads are supposed to take.
I'll be at SM ICU! Excited to meet everyone at orientation! Have you all done your occ health and background? I'm moving from the Bay Area first week of February.

My appt isn't until feb 6 bc occ health told me I couldn't do it until February! Wish I got an earlier date but I'll be moved in by then so i guess it's more convenient. Just hope there's enough time to get everything done! Did you find a place yet? I was just down there and found a place close to the hospital. I'm excited to start!
My friend and I are going to be roommates. we haven't found a place cause he is coming from another state so we haven't had a time to search. Ill be there on the 6th of February with my friend cause he has his appt. that day. During that time, we will be looking for a place. Are goal to is live by the hospital. What website did you use to look for a place?
I used trulia, apartment.com and rent.com. Apparently Craigslist has problems down there with a lot of scams but I found my place on there. You just have to be careful. It's less than a mile from the hospital if you wanna check it out. My appt is the same day as well. Did you say he's in ICU? We'll be coworkers!
