Hi everyone, I had an interview on the 10th of November for SM peds.... I called the unit director yesterday morning at 0900 and left a message asking how the evaluation and hiring process was going and to let her know I am very interested in the position. I did not receive a call back yet.... I'm so nervous!!! Has anyone heard back form SM peds? Has anyone applied to other UC hospital new grad programs? It's very competitive everywhere!

Hi BSNPanda - i also interviewed for the same unit. Hope we both get that hiring call. I am very nervous as well. Let us know if you ever get a call from the UD (LC). I was so nervous during my interview that i forgot to ask for her card.

hope we all get our calls soon! this anxiety is killing me! lol

Hi,

Has anyone heard for UCLA RR SICU UD? I received a voice message today to return her call and I did but received a voice mail. Anyone else receive calls?

ER hopefuls,

Sorry to ask for the millionth time but any news???

No news at all. :( Been glued to my phone.

Hi AnastasiaK,

No phone call yet! What time did she call you? Good luck I hope she makes all her calls today:)

Called the RR Peds UD today for a follow up. She informed me that she had just sent me an e-mail and unfortunately could not offer me a position at this time. I checked my mail and sure enough, there it was.

If anyone knows exactly what they are looking for I'd really like to know.

I thought my interview went very well, and I was informed over and over that UCLA really values keeping their internal applicants ( I'm internal). I was just so stunned by the news that I really didn't get a chance to ask why I didn't qualify... or do people not generally ask why they aren't chosen?

Good luck to everyone out there still waiting for a call.

Hey Shmu,

Ugh, I'm fairly certain this is killing us slowly huh? I wish more ER people were on this thread so we would have a better idea. Trying to stay positive!

Audster, I'm very sorry to hear that. Just want to wish you the best in finding a place to start your career.

Audster,

I received the same email not too long ago. Good gpa, plenty of volunteer work, great interview, etc.

I will take this news and turn it into a positive. I am hoping for more opportunities along the way. Keep me updated with news if you can. :D

As for everyone that received great news: well done! I hope you the best in your career!

As for those that received a "I regret to inform you... Etc." Try your best not to dwell on it. Stay strong and keep consistent! One day... Will be our day. Until then dont let it break you into pieces.

Oh, nooo, I'm so sorry to hear that :crying2: but since you're an internal, does that mean you're not able to continue working at UCLA anymore or just that you will have stay in the same position until another time for things to open up? Good luck!!

Has anyone else been hired for step-down or medsurg? I've been calling HR but keep hitting voicemail.
