Has anyone heard back from NICU or called the UD ? I interviewed for SM on Nov. 10th. Congratulations to everyone who has a job offer already and wishing everyone waiting to hear back all the best. I have been waiting by my phone everyday to get that hiring phone call .
Hi everyone, I had an interview on the 10th of November for SM peds.... I called the unit director yesterday morning at 0900 and left a message asking how the evaluation and hiring process was going and to let her know I am very interested in the position. I did not receive a call back yet.... I'm so nervous!!! Has anyone heard back form SM peds? Has anyone applied to other UC hospital new grad programs? It's very competitive everywhere!
Ca rn 20112011till did u say u interviewed for oncology? If so would u be willing to ask the ud when I she calls id she knows when she will get back to people? Glad ti hear good news!

Hi CaliBecca- yes I have my license already, I got it in July. Not sure if that is at all the selection criteria for the unit. It does seems a lot of people that are getting hired at UCLA are still in school and going to take the NCLEX before the start dates of the programs. So I don't know what they are looking at to make the decisions. Did you interview for this unit as well?
Yes, UCLA like some hospitals like to hire new grads straight from their schooling, so that they can be groomed (I mean that in a nice way), but subject to them passing the NCLEX. If they fail the first time, they may be allowed to stay employed, but if they don't make it within that hospitals time period requirement, they will be terminated and another person may be selected. That happened to a good friend of mine, it was not at UCLA, she bombed the NCLEX twice!! They let her go and one of her friend's friend got the job.
Thanks CaRN2011! I applied for the oncology unit as well, but have not heard back either! I don't have my license yet, however I plan to take it in January. Sallyp911, haha no pressure right? =) the NCLEX seems daunting for sure! Hopefully kaplan will help!

Hey CouragiousRN-I interviewed on the 10th for SM NICU as well.. No calls back yet. Nervous just like you too. I called and left a message on monday for the person who interviewed me but nothing yet. I also left a message for the recruiter in HR and she called back ....she told me they haven't decided who to hire just yet....she'll be finding out. If I get a call back from her guys...I'll post! Best of luck to all of us...seems like those who applied for PEDS and NICU for SM hospital hasn't heard anything back yet. Wouldn't it be nice if we were all selected? Wishful thinking...I know.
