UCLA New Grad Residency Winter 2018

Published

Hi, everyone! I wanted to start this group for those who will or are still thinking about applying to UCLA's new graduate program!

We can talk about applying, any rumors we've heard or just anything in general.

I started a Facebook group too (since other groups have in the past):

Anyone here attending the OR interview day?

Update:

Just got an email from talent acquisition to interview for their Acute Peds Unit on November 29th!

I called yesterday and they said they'd be sending out more invitations for interviews the next two weeks.

Did anyone's status for any of the ICUs change from online assessment completed?

Nothing yet...

Also getting interviewed in the PICU on the 27th! Based on the threads of people who interviewed in the PICU in past cohorts -- they heavily emphasized experience in the ICU setting during the interviews...

Did anyone get an interview for NICU?

I got an interview slot for labor and delivery unit and they told us in the email that we won't get any confirmation email as proof. Do you guys know any other ways to make sure or check the interview slot is correct and that it worked out correctly?

Update:

Received an email from the Talent Acquisitions today prompting me to sign up for an interview on 11/27 for the PICU, that was the only day that was offered and from there I got to pick my time slot. Hope this information helps.

Good luck everyone!!!

Good luck on your interview tomorrow!!

Good luck on your interview tomorrow!!

Thank you, I feel good about it but know they aren't taking a lot of new grads for this cohort so that worries me. Good Luck on your interview if you haven't already had it and be prepared for a lot of behavioral questions!!

Thank you! Mine is tomorrow morning. Did they ask any clinical/medical based questions?

Oh wow GOOD LUCK!!!

I interviewed for PICU and don't recall getting any clinical/ prioritization type questions, they were all general about me and behavioral questions. Good Luck again, everyone I met yesterday was extremely nice and welcoming. They didn't give me an exact date of when I should hear by but according to a flyer in this packet you will get it could be by 12/22 or 1/31? Kind of confusing and hoping we all know their decisions good or bad before Christmas. Good Luck again!!
