UCLA New Grad Residency Program Winter 2019

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to start a thread for people who applied to UCLA's new grad nurse residency program! Lets keep each other updated!

I also applied to 8ICU. They told me about 8 new grads, however this number can change based on applications, interviews etc. I also called the HR office yesterday just to confirm when to expect to hear back. And the lady said it will probably be after the holidays for 8ICU. So after the holidays- 2nd week of Jan. She also explained that it may be a phone call vs email as the managers prefer to contact you directly. So I will basically have my phone in my hand ready to answer any call from now until Jan :)

Did anyone get an second in-person interview invite for a different unit?

Hi there! I applied for Medical ICU and Cardiothoracic ICU at RR October 3rd. I received an invitation to interview for CT ICU via email on Tuesday, November 20th. My interview is in the morning on Wednesday, December 5th. Good luck to you all :)

I tried to call HR Wednesday just to ask how long it might take for my unit to get back and I got the busy tone all day. I called yesterday as well and was transferred to 3 different people and the last person I was supposed to talk to didn't answer so I sent an email.. This wait feels like an eternity! :(

Spoke to HR today for PICU. They had an one interview today that couldn't make it two weeks ago for interviews and we should hear by monday with offers / denials.

Out of state applicants: I haven't taken my NCLEX yet days are only available in January but I was told by HR for ICU that we need to have the California license by April 1st. Has anyone already started this process or have any words of advice..? Applying from Texas
