UCLA New Grad Program 2010

Published

Has anyone heard anything back from the UCLA New Grad Summer Program for 2010? I applied in the beginning of February and have only had a phone interview so far, with no feedback yet. Any info or others' experience would be much appreciated, thank you!

From out-of-state? If so, I cant say I'm all that surprised....I feel like I keep on hearing so many different things from them that I don't know what's true anymore!! :uhoh3:

All were from southern CA, San Diego to Los Angeles.

Hey guys! Just wanted to correct what I said earlier - ends up the two "out of state" people aren't actually out of state. They have CA addresses :) Therefore, it's probably still true that no candidates outside of CA have been contacted yet! Don't let your hopes drop!!

It's so difficult waiting for any progress or interview - I feel your pain! Whatever happens with UCLA, just keep plugging away at new grad apps and maintain your momentum:twocents: We will all be employed soon and hopefully can laugh about this later.

I interviewed last week! It went really well and I'm looking forward to the next step :) I have a couple questions that some of you may be able to answer.

1. When does the program start? I know it's "summer," but summer could mean anytime from June through September, lol.

2. Despite reading here that a couple people forgot to ask when we're going to hear from UCLA next, I still forgot to ask *hits head* Has anyone been able to find out when we'll hear about unit manager interviews?

The program starts in August.

As far as hearing from the unit managers, it depends on how many more interviews there are with the nurse recruiter. I imagine we'll start hearing back in a few weeks to a month..? (just guessing).

I had my interview today and like all of you, though it went well. Time to wait for the next step :)

I called the recruiting office since it's been 2 weeks since I interviewed. They said that the "next step" hasn't really been established. Each unit is going to decide whether or not they'll be performing individual in-person interviews, and when they do, HR will promptly call us if we are chosen for an interview or offered a position. The most any individual has done has been to interview with HR - which they are obviously still conducting.

As far as when the program starts, it varies by unit. Some units start in August and some start in September. Hope this helps! :)

So does that mean they could offer a position straight off of the first in person interview?

^ Sounds that way! Gosh, wouldn't that be nice... :yeah: Thanks for answering my questions, Lindsay and Jen! Kudos to you :)

If units don't have the time/manpower to interview us individually, then they certainly could. Wouldn't that be wonderful? I'd imagine any further interviews would be much more stressful. But again, the recruitment office wasn't sure what would be happening.

P6 - Sorry I never got back to you.. i'm at CSUSM.
