Has anyone heard anything back from the UCLA New Grad Summer Program for 2010? I applied in the beginning of February and have only had a phone interview so far, with no feedback yet. Any info or others' experience would be much appreciated, thank you!
Thanks for getting back to me Jan. I knew about having to wait a few weeks before hearing back. I used to work at UCLA and floated a few times over to SM... the floors I worked on had already been renovated and they were beautiful. I know what you mean though - i'd work anywhere as long as it was for UCLA (except it would be wonderful to be at RR!) :)
I have a question for all of you who have already gotten interviews. Do all of you live in-state? No one from my school (in NY) that applied to the new graduate program has heard anything back yet. Wondering if they are interviewing those who live in the area first.....I mean, at this point, any response would be nice. February 1st seems like ages ago.
Thanks for your feedback in advance!
Hey you guys,
So I spoke to someone in the recruitment office and she said that they have not started contacting the out-of-state people yet. Then she said that all of the out-of-state candidates who have made it past the phone assessment interview would be contacted by a phone interview conducted by the senior nurse recruiter to get to know the candidates a little better. I asked for my app status and she said that I would be scheduled for that in the next 1-2 weeks. Then she said that they would be choosing applicants for scheduling interviews with the unit managers. WOW! This is a process!!
Just an FYI for all those anxiously waiting.

She didn't say if the specific unit would be contacting me or if she would be contacting me, but I suspect that it would be the latter. And she also said that it would take at least a couple of weeks before I would hear anything.
I applied for MS/Tele, ICU/CCU at SM-UCLA, and L&D. I got the feeling that most of the openings are at SM-UCLA because she spent a good amount of time talking to me about SM-UCLA and all the renovations that have been done. I've never been to SM-UCLA, but I would be happy to be employed by UCLA Healthcare in general so if that's where she wants to place me then I'm all for it.
