UCLA New Grad Program 2010

Published

Has anyone heard anything back from the UCLA New Grad Summer Program for 2010? I applied in the beginning of February and have only had a phone interview so far, with no feedback yet. Any info or others' experience would be much appreciated, thank you!

I just had my NICU interview this morning. Apparently, I'm the last one being interviewed so any of you who were waiting to hear back about their NICU interview, it should be sometime next week :)

So...what did you think? Did she say how many more she is hiring? I know that she has already hired at least one. I accepted another job anyway, but was just curious. I was the first one she interviewed. :)

As far as I know, it went well. It was a very casual conversation that sparked questions between the two of us. It was nice to see the unit in person as well.

She said she was looking to hire between 8 and 10 people, but she's looking for a balance between new grads and experienced RN's. Crossing my fingers... :)

I was wondering for those who were offered position, were u given any details about the background check and physical ? I was told by the manager that were're gonna be hearing back from the program coordinator, but I called HR and they told me I'll be hearing back from the unit manager. Do any of you have info ??

Hi Va0707,

I need a few more posts, but will PM you the information I got when I was offered the position... Congrats!

TintinRN,

I don't think I will be hearing from the peds acute manager now that I have accepted in PICU, but she did say she had a lot more interviews to complete before she made a decision. She said I if I didn't hear back by the end of July to give her a call. Sorta last minute for those who have to put notice in on apts and relocate, so hopefully it will be sooner! Best of luck, have you interviewed yet?

Va0707,

I decided its probably OK to post the information here. My instructions were to call 310-825-6771 to schedule an Immunization review and Physical. After that, they will let you know the next step in the process for filling out your new hire paperwork.

Hi angeRN09,

congrats !!

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate the info ! Did u get this info from your unit director or the program coordinator ??

Thanks, u too :yeah: I was given the info by the Assistant NM that offered me the position.

Congrats to all of you who have had your offers!! That's awesome!

^ Santa Monica ED's job offer e-mails have already been sent out :w00t:

I was just called today for a third interview at Santa Monica Medical Center ED. It has been about 7 weeks since my 2nd interview. Hopefully not all the job offers have been sent out.

I was called to schedule my third interview today for the PICU (with the unit manager, I believe). I am really nervous. Can anyone give me any tips? How did the interview go? I got so nervous during my second interview that I blanked out when my interviewer asked me some content questions :( I didn't even think I'd get this far, but now that I still have a little bit of chance, I want to be a little more prepared. Any tips would help.

Thanks. And congrats to all who got offered a position.
