I am graduating this December 2010 as an ADN. I want to make sure I apply for UCLA's new grad program the day the application opens. Is there anyone else with this plan? Does anyone have the link to where this application will appear? I have looked at many informational screens but have not found a link to an application. I figured it might be on the UCLA job search site, so I opened a profile there. I do not live in CA, I am out of state. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.
They are making calls. Just got a call this evening from UCLA Santa Monica. My first choice is oncology and I'm suppose to call back on Monday to schedule an interview. I wish they had called back sooner cause I'll probably go with Loma Linda- great for oncology with their proton therapy. Tough choice.
Congratulations, and good luck on making this difficult choice!

Congrats! You're lucky to have the luxury of being able to choose :]
Yea, it's very disappointing. So close! But that's life. I just wished I applied on the first day the applications opened again. Maybe then I wouldn't be waitlisted.
Anyway, based on my experience, the recruiter and the manager interviews were separate. They were a little less than 2 weeks apart for me. The recruiter interview seemed more stressful for me (although the recruiter was really nice though). I think part of it was the fact that I was really nervous since it was the first interview I've ever been to and I kind of blanked out when I was asked she asked me "content" questions. My interview with the manager didn't really seem like a formal interview. She asked me a couple of standard interview questions (like why UCLA, why this unit, etc), but for the most part, she just talked about the unit. I don't know if all the other unit managers do it, but I got a surprise informal "panel" with the staff. I asked someone from HR about what to expect when I meet with the unit manager, and she told me the managers have different interviewing style. So, just make brush up on those standard questions and maybe try to review some content (just the basics) before your interview. :)
I believe I was waitlisted the last time too, so I was one of the last options/back up. I think that's why the whole process was fast for me. Good luck. Don't lose hope yet. :)
@monkeysarecute -- Wow it must be devastating to go through all that and not get the position. I really hope things work out this time around! I was wondering if you could shed a little light on the interviews you described. For example, are the interviews with the Recruiter and Manager separate, or is it a panel interview, etc. If they are separate, were they on the same day or different days? I'm just trying to get a feel of what to expect should I be fortunate enough to be called (haven't heard yet since the TalentPlus interview). Any insight you're willing to share would be great! Thanks in advance, and good luck :)
hey all.i am still waiting for an in-person interview call. Has anyone from out of state gotten a phone call yet? From the last applicants pool it looks like out-of-staters had a later time frame for in-person interviews. Maybe just grasping at straws...
Hey, I'm from Boston, MA and I still have yet to receive a phone call from UCLA, kinda doubtful that I will anyway. Where are you from?

Unfortunately, I havent heard from UCLA. I have been waitlisted. I did the TalentPlus interview last June though. If ever I get te opportunity again, I dont know if I'd have to do it again.
Is there anyone who originally waitlisted been contacted for an interview?

ohhh, the reason I asked was because I got the talent-plus interview, and then I got an email that said I was waitlisted... pretty weird, also, I have not yet recieved a call for the next interview , it is a long process and although it is the main hospital I want to work for, I am continuing on with applications elsewhere. Good luck on those going for interviews!
