  1. i know of many people who live in long beach and work at UCLA and dont mind the commute at all. not sure what the schedule will be like the first couple of months, but if you think about it 3 days a week wont be to many days of driving. And for sure look into UCLA vanpool.
  2. misslolalady congrats! when is your start date?
  3. Does anyone know if the Liver/Surgical ICU has made any decisions? Or when we can expect to hear back?
  4. anybody else called for interviews, or had an interview this week with info on units and how many they are hiring?
  5. I think that the ICU's are still interviewing into Jan. I have an interview coming up this week, they probably have not made their decisions yet...I also had another interview about 2 weeks back and have not heard, makes me think I am out of that one :/
  6. They offered her a position or interview for DOU? You should for sure call to see what is going on, maybe there are spots left in the units you are interested in. I really do hope this year brings us good news, and good luck with the call on Monday!
  7. Congrats on receiving the call... and good luck on the interview. I interviewed for another unit at RR, only advice I can give is don't be nervous, it really depends on the unit but I didn't get any scenario type questions. By the way, has anyone been offered a position at RR?
  8. nursetee, how do you send a pm?

    i agree
  10. Congrats to those of you with the job offers! For some it was a long wait, but working at UCLA is well worth it!
  11. I think the decisions are all based on the unit you applied for. I just interviewed yesterday, and it sounded like they were gonna do several more interviews into the holidays and even after New Year's, but this was at RR, which seems may have started interviewing a little later. It would be nice though to get some good news before xmas.
  12. Persistancepays... thanks for all the info you have given us. I also applied for oncology, I did my preceptorship on an oncology floor and I loved it, but you are right there are always soooo many things to learn, I was not allowed to give chemo or blood transfusions, but I practiced a lot with everything else. Good luck with the new job, and hopefully UCLA does keep those calls coming.
