  1. i know of many people who live in long beach and work at UCLA and dont mind the commute at all. not sure what the schedule will be like the first couple of months, but if you think about it 3 days a week wont be to many days of driving. And for sure look into UCLA vanpool.
  2. misslolalady congrats! when is your start date?
  3. Does anyone know if the Liver/Surgical ICU has made any decisions? Or when we can expect to hear back?
  4. anybody else called for interviews, or had an interview this week with info on units and how many they are hiring?
  5. I think that the ICU's are still interviewing into Jan. I have an interview coming up this week, they probably have not made their decisions yet...I also had another interview about 2 weeks back and have not heard, makes me think I am out of that one :/
  6. They offered her a position or interview for DOU? You should for sure call to see what is going on, maybe there are spots left in the units you are interested in. I really do hope this year brings us good news, and good luck with the call on Monday!
  7. Congrats on receiving the call... and good luck on the interview. I interviewed for another unit at RR, only advice I can give is don't be nervous, it really depends on the unit but I didn't get any scenario type questions. By the way, has anyone been offered a position at RR?
  8. nursetee, how do you send a pm?
  9. 28012rn replied to NurseSuzann's topic in Geriatric, LTC
    i agree
  10. Congrats to those of you with the job offers! For some it was a long wait, but working at UCLA is well worth it!
  11. I think the decisions are all based on the unit you applied for. I just interviewed yesterday, and it sounded like they were gonna do several more interviews into the holidays and even after New Year's, but this was at RR, which seems may have started interviewing a little later. It would be nice though to get some good news before xmas.
  12. Persistancepays... thanks for all the info you have given us. I also applied for oncology, I did my preceptorship on an oncology floor and I loved it, but you are right there are always soooo many things to learn, I was not allowed to give chemo or blood transfusions, but I practiced a lot with everything else. Good luck with the new job, and hopefully UCLA does keep those calls coming.
  13. From Los Angeles, and a UCLA alumni
  14. Hello everyone, just to inform those of you that have heard nothing, which includes me as well , I called today and they are still making calls, and will continue on next week. Its hard being patient but looks like that is all we can do for now...
  15. ohhh, the reason I asked was because I got the talent-plus interview, and then I got an email that said I was waitlisted... pretty weird, also, I have not yet recieved a call for the next interview , it is a long process and although it is the main hospital I want to work for, I am continuing on with applications elsewhere. Good luck on those going for interviews!
  16. yeah the waiting is not fun . I applied to med-surg as a first choice and have not received any calls, but then I got an email that I was waitlisted even after I did the talent-plus interview, so I really have no idea what my status is, but as the week went by I did loose hope about recieving the call. however, good luck to all those who are moving forward, and keep us posted on the process!
  17. monkeysareacute, did you get to do the talent plus interview?
  18. I am also very anxious about hearing from UCLA, but from what I have read from previous threads, it is best to keep myself open to other positions at other hospitals. Which is what I am attempting to do, but it is def. a diffcult time for new nurses right now. I check this thread often to see if anyone has gotten a reply from UCLA, but it seems like it has not happened yet, hopefully soon we will hear something.
  19. Was wondering how the calculation test went? Also, do you know when your next interview is?
  20. nursetee? when was your panel interview?
  21. I was also waitlisted, and I am really sad. I was waiting on a letter of recommendation as well. I had the talentplus interview and things seemed to be going ok. I also have a second degree, undergrad at UCLA, but I have heard over a 1000 people applied this time. Lets just keep our fingers crossed and hope the waitlist opens up.
