UCLA MSN/APRN FALL 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey y’all! I wanted to start a thread for the UCLA MSN Fall 2021 cohort! Finalized my application in January so I’ve been playing the waiting game for about a month now...?

What program did you guys apply for? Has anyone gotten any correspondence from anyone on the Admissions committee ?? Any inside scoop on the notification timelines?

Best of luck to everyone!

Hey everyone, I hope this forum is still active. For the APRN program, I was wondering, when they choose students, does anyone know the average GPA of those who were accepted? I know they look at statement of purpose, personal statements, and rec letters. I was wondering if that was all?

Hi, it's not as active, but I am still getting notified of new comments.  I attended an open-house presentation via zoom and I still have the slide show saved.  If you would like to have it, DM me your email address so I can send it to you.  There, one of the slides shows that the minimun GPA required to apply is a 3.0 and I applied with an overall 3.5 GPA.  Also, they ask for a copy of your unofficial transcripts.  Hope this helps and best of luck when you apply!

Hey! I applied with a 3.0 and got accepted. I did take a long time on the rest of my application to make up for it.

I don't know the average GPA of those who got accepted but they did state (in the criteria tips and info section) that GPA is NOT the whole picture. My overall GPA (between ADN & BSN) was a 3.5 as well.

thank you everyone! I was so worried about the entire application. when I fill out my forms, ill keep in mind to make a well-rounded application. how many years of experience did you all have before applying to the program? I was planning to get 1.5-2 years on the floor before applying. (I hope that’s not too little)

This is my 7th year of being a RN, all floor/bedside experience. This is from the slideshow they provided during the information session, just for your knowledge and curiosity.

The typical APRN student: Years of Clinical Experience:

0-1 year: 1

1-2 years: 7

2-4 years: 33

5 or more: 52

Hope this helps!

Just the date so far, 7/28. I’m also still waiting for them to send more info about retaking physical assessment.

Hi all, I'm interested in applying to this program for Fall 2022. Could I please DM any of you and ask about your stats if you were accepted? I'm currently a new grad emergency department RN working at a level 1 trauma center and at a UC hospital (not UCLA though). Many thanks and congratulations to those who were accepted!
