UCLA MSN/APRN FALL 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey y’all! I wanted to start a thread for the UCLA MSN Fall 2021 cohort! Finalized my application in January so I’ve been playing the waiting game for about a month now...?

What program did you guys apply for? Has anyone gotten any correspondence from anyone on the Admissions committee ?? Any inside scoop on the notification timelines?

Best of luck to everyone!

?? ?ℝ??ℕ?! ?

Thank you, that helps a lot! All my official transcripts are in, so I guess I’ll just wait till they process it. Yeaaa it’s strange with the discrepancy. Definitely makes me really nervous. Oh btw if you’re looking to enroll in a physiology class, UCLA extension also offers 10 week online ones ? not sure when the next class will be in session but you might get a head start on completing this pre- requisite rather than waiting for UCLA nursing department Summer sessions. It might also be cheaper! Hope this info is helpful!

Yeah, I’ve been looking at community colleges to try to save money but they have prerequisites for Physio and I’m not sure if they apply to me since I’ve already taken it before. Definitely will consider extension though, thanks for the tip!

I’ll keep you posted about the official letter. It’s giving me a little bit of anxiety too ?

Hi guys!  Okay, so here's what's going on with the transcript discrepancy.  IF you have finished your BSN, then graduate division does require official transcripts.  IF you have not, then your official transcripts are not required for graduate division to issue/release your official letter of acceptance.  But!  They will require them before one can start the Fall quarter so official transcripts are required to start the program.

About taking Physio, it's a pain!  I wanted to take it at a CC, but there are so many requisites to enroll.  They want proof that I have taken Anatomy and Chemistry which I took a while back and of course now they are saying they are both expired!  They also said there is a way around it, but I'd have to petition for it and it's just too much trouble.  I know taking it at UCLA will be more expensive, but if I don't have to do anything extra for them to let me register, then I guess it's worth it.

Where is everyone planning to take it?  I think we should all take it together so we can be study buddies.  What do ya'll think?

I finally got my official letter on 4/1.  I am thinking about taking Physio with UCLA Extension since it's cheaper, but am still looking into other options.  Definitely open to being study buddies if we end up taking the same class!

Awesome!  I'm glad you have received your official letter of acceptance.  Hey so I looked into UCLA Extension as well, but their classes started in March.  I think the only option we have now is taking it at UCLA ?

Hi guys!  I just registered to take Physio at UCLA.  It's pricy!  If you can get in somewhere else, try to do that.  I just don't want to deal with all the hassle of taking it at a CC.  Besides, most of the classes at CC's are already full.  I gave up looking into other options and I just registered to take it at UCLA.  It's 6 weeks long; it starts 8/02 and ends 9/10

Oh no! I wish I had seen your comment sooner! I’m going to take it at UCSD Extension. It’s still expensive but not as bad ($800 vs. I think $1200 at UCLA).

Yikes! I was waiting to hear back from MC regarding course compatibility before I posted about it here. Still waiting to hear back from my local cc’s before committing.

Hello ??

I am currently taking Physiology via UCLA extension, just one week in. Mine was around $800 as well.

@eix.t- your class is compatible with their requirements. Here is the link for approved physiology classes found on the UCLA website..

I'm just waiting on instructions on signing up for Physical Assessment in the Summer Session.

I'm still trying to figure out the different portals, but I wanted to let you know that you need to figure out access to your UCLA email account ASAP.  I just found it and I had a message asking me to submit a document by tomorrow!  So lucky I went into my account today.

Hey everyone, I hope this forum is still active. For the APRN program, I was wondering, when they choose students, does anyone know the average GPA of those who were accepted? I know they look at statement of purpose, personal statements, and rec letters. I was wondering if that was all?
