UCLA MECN 2021

Published

Hi everyone!

I am planning on applying to UCLA's MECN program for 2021 and since I did not see a thread here yet I wanted to get one going for us to share questions and concerns. Good luck to everyone!

Quick question, do we have to have all of our recommendations in by the time we submit? I’m still waiting on one of my professors to submit hers ?

Nope! They are due Jan 15 I believe, all that happens now is when you submit they will get the form sent to them but then they have until January to do it.

@maryam @lilyrose212 Oh! Thank y'all so much! I was stressing out because that was all I was waiting on to submit haha. Good luck to everyone!!

Quick Question: For the Prerequisites section

[Chemistry: Intro to Inorganic, Organic, & Biochemistry], there is only one spot to input a course and I know that we are required to take 2 courses. For example, I took Chem 14A and 14B, so where would we input the other course?

Also, there is a section for Stats and Biostats. Do we just leave one section blank or input the same course on both?

Any help is greatly appreciated! ?

Im not sure either but I just decided to put both of them in that one section  so  like Chem 1A and 1B grades: A+ and A- and I put the end date of the last course I took if that makes sense. I have no idea if this is right because you just made me aware of this LOL I hope this helps

@maryamThank you so much for your help! I will put them both in the same section ?

G'day everyone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but do our recommenders have till January 15 to submit our LOR's? If so, do you reckon I still need to input their information on the portal prior to submitting the application or am I able to go back to the application after the deadline to add their contact info?

Cheers

Recommenders do have until January 15th. I am not sure if you'll be able to submit without putting their information in but I also remember in one of the information sessions they said that if for example a recommender doesn't write on you as the deadline approaches, you can change the person. So, it is at a minimum something you can update - even if you have to put something in now in order to submit it, you can change it later.

Goodluck everyone. I just submitted. Praying for an acceptance.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue I've ran into while trying to submit my application? I am not sure why this showed up. (I've already tried clearing my cookies and cache)

Thank you!

I’m not 100% sure but maybe since it’s the last day to submit everyone is trying to reach the website? That’s my best guess but maybe try again in an hour? ?

Right, I'll input the required three recommenders. Better to be safe than sorry. Much obliged for the help.

Just submitted my application! So nervous. How’s everyone else feeling?
