UCF 2021 Traditional BSN

Thread for UCF ‘21 Traditional BSN ❤️
I sent my application in literally at 12:00 am on February 1st... is this application wholistic or first come first serve? Also... does UCF look at your transcript with grades from this semester?

Aside from that, lmk what your GPA’s and TEAS scores look like. I am way too insecure to post mine and am not sure where I am at. First choice is Daytona, then Orlando, then Cocoa.

I am waitlisted for ABSN, my traditional application still says Under review(all check marks green)

Hopefully it changes to eligible soon! Good luck ?

Hiiii! I’ve been eye-balling this website for a traditional thread, so I’m excited to see one that was made!!

I sent my application in on the 1st as well!! I’m not sure if priority is given to those who applied first. I know that they base it mainly on your cumulative GPA, science GPA, non-science GPA, and TEAS score. I’d assume that maybe if you have the same stats as someone else, they’d go based on who submitted their application first, but I’m not sure!

I think that they’d look at your transcript with grades from this semester as well, especially if you’re currently taking a pre-req.

TEAS: 89.3

Cumulative GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0

Non-Science GPA: 4.0

I am a transfer from Palm Beach State College!

Ranks: Orlando, Cocoa, Daytona

Good luck guys! Fingers crossed that we all get in!!

I’m a pbsc student right now that will be applying for the traditional BSN’22. I was just wondering, when you were registering for the TEAS what institution you affiliated when registering? your stats are really good and I’m sure you’ll get in!

Aww! Thank you :’) Due to covid, I took the TEAS online through the UCF testing center and affiliated with UCF on my TEAS account. I’d recommend doing this because your TEAS score will automatically get sent to UCF if you take it through the UCF testing center. (If you take it at a different institution then you have to pay ~$20 to send a transcript to UCF) I know the lake worth and boca PBSC campuses also offer the TEAS at the testing center sometimes if that works better for you. Good luck! I have some TEAS study quizlets I can link if you’re interested!!

oh okay so you didn’t take the TEAS until you were admitted to UCF. I was going to take it through TEAS at ATI. thank you, that would be helpful!

I took it while waiting to be accepted to UCF as a transfer student. If I remember correctly, you can take a test through the UCF testing center without being a UCF student. Here’s the quizlet link: https://quizlet.com/x0kn/folders

Does anybody know anything about Daytona vs Cocoa campus and VC/UCF concurrent vs SSC/UCF concurrent? I’m applying to all of them and I’m not sure which program would be the best for me. I’ve researched a decent amt but haven’t found anything substantial!! I’m worried about having to commit to daytona/cocoa before we get decisions for the other programs!

The Cocoa and Daytona campuses have the same program as Orlando (Traditional BSN program.) The only notable differences between the 3 are location/where you do clinicals and class size (Orlando takes 126 students, while Cocoa and Daytona take 45 each.) The traditional program is 5 semesters long and you graduate with a BSN. https://nursing.ucf.edu/academics/bachelors-degrees/traditional-BSN/
The VC/UCF concurrent program is up to 7 semesters long. You graduate with both an ASN and a BSN. You take ASN and BSN courses at the same time, with ASN courses being taught at Valencia College and BSN courses being taught at UCF's Valencia West campus. Typically, you finish your ASN in 5 semesters and then finish your BSN 1-2 semesters after. https://nursing.ucf.edu/academics/bachelors-degrees/vc-ucf-BSN/
The SCC/UCF concurrent program is 6 semesters long. Like the VC/UCF concurrent program, you graduate with both an ASN and a BSN. You take ASN and BSN courses at the same time, with ASN courses being taught at Seminole State College (Altamonte Springs) and BSN courses being taught at UCF's Altamonte Springs campus. Typically, you finish your ASN in 5 semesters and then finish your BSN 1 semester after. https://nursing.ucf.edu/academics/bachelors-degrees/ssc-ucf-BSN/
I'm not sure, but I'd assume that if you got an acceptance to Cocoa/Daytona and accepted it, but then later got accepted to a concurrent program and decided to go to that program instead, you could opt out of going to Cocoa/Daytona and your spot would then go to someone on the traditional program waitlist.

No problem! ?

Does anybody know which program is better- Cocoa vs Daytona? I will have to relocate for either one and I don’t know anything about the area and can’t find information anywhere comparing the two. I want to feel safe!

Program-wise, they're relatively the same. In my opinion, I think Daytona has better housing options than Cocoa does.

Did anybody not get in for Summer and had to reactivate for Fall? I’m kinda worried. I know it already says eligible on my app but on my UGRD application status it still says “offered admission to UCF for the Summer term”
