Thread for UCF ‘21 Traditional BSN ❤️
I sent my application in literally at 12:00 am on February 1st... is this application wholistic or first come first serve? Also... does UCF look at your transcript with grades from this semester?

Aside from that, lmk what your GPA’s and TEAS scores look like. I am way too insecure to post mine and am not sure where I am at. First choice is Daytona, then Orlando, then Cocoa.

Edit: I am a transfer from UNF (yes I totally did spell a word wrong, my B).

I have been waiting for this post LOL.  I'm a local transfer from Valencia College.

Not 100% sure about how they sort us with stats but it seemed like GPA and TEAS for sure.  If you're weak in one score, do better in another.

TEAS 82.7 (UGH)

Cumulative 3.736

Science 3.75

Nonscience 4.0

I have Cocoa, Orlando then Daytona.  Btw.  If any one else tries to apply for two different semesters... Don't. LOL

Hiiii! I’ve been eye-balling this website for a traditional thread, so I’m excited to see one that was made!!

I sent my application in on the 1st as well!! I’m not sure if priority is given to those who applied first. I know that they base it mainly on your cumulative GPA, science GPA, non-science GPA, and TEAS score. I’d assume that maybe if you have the same stats as someone else, they’d go based on who submitted their application first, but I’m not sure!

I think that they’d look at your transcript with grades from this semester as well, especially if you’re currently taking a pre-req.

TEAS: 89.3

Cumulative GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0

Non-Science GPA: 4.0

I am a transfer from Palm Beach State College!

Ranks: Orlando, Cocoa, Daytona

Good luck guys! Fingers crossed that we all get in!!

Apply for two different semesters? I thought the traditional program only started in the fall. Could you clarify what you mean by that?

You have perfect GPA all across the board, you will definitely get in.

Hopefully! Looking at past years, I’ve noticed that they’re a bit harder on transfers unfortunately ? But this year is a wayyyy different year and I’m sure covid has played a part in stats + the number of people applying. Hoping the best for you as well!!

Sorry, shoulda clarified.  Admission to UCF, not the traditional program.

What I meant was, I also had applied to the Seminole/UCF Concurrent Summer just to in case.  But, it's traditional I'm hoping for.  I have no idea what the applicant pool looks like this year LOL

Good luck to ya'll!

OK that makes sense. I did that similar thing! I am in the process of applying to Valencia/UCF Concurrent (but for the fall). Traditional is def. my main goal. It’s so dumb how in FL it’s two years to get a BSN if you don’t have your RN but its four years if you get your RN first then your BSN.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

You made me laugh LOL. Thank you.

That irony is exactly why I decided I might as well get it over with.  On one hand, you can get NCLEX'd up and then start working earlier but you have better odds with your BSN and you get it over with minus the hassle of the extra years they tack on if you do it the RN-BSN path.  Especially if you ever decide to go APRN/MS things.

To be fair, FL nursing school tuition (in state) ain't bad compared to what I have seen in other states.  But I'll rave further once well all get in LOL

I just wanted to stop by to tell you:

Good luck to each and every one of you!  Keep that passion, fire, and hunger--don't let anyone take that from you.  Ever.

Pro tip--It's okay to nervous.  Every nurse has made a mistake (we're human).  Every nurse has been poop their pants scared.  (Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.)  Always carry a pen and a hemostat.   And lastly--be your own cheerleader.

You got this!
