UCF traditional BSN 2019

Published

Hi

Anybody applying for UCF traditional BSN?

I am a transfer from VCC and submitted my undergraduate application last week.

My overall gpa is 4.0.

teas 72 ☹️ I will retake the test in the beginning of February or late January.

I'm seeing an undergraduate adviser next week and the nursing adviser on January to make sure I haven't missed anything.

I haven't taken any chemistry course and I'm not sure if it's mandatory or not to apply for the program.

no offense, but what's your reasoning behind that? equal stats means they learned just as much sooo

Do not give up! There is always the concurrent program with Seminole State and Valencia. Look into those! They are great programs with amazing NCLEX pass rates. You will get the same BSN as a student who went through the traditional program.

I'm assuming UCF is getting like UF with the transfer students because a lot of the transfer students had much better stats than some of the ones I know who got into the traditional program who also go to UCF. Apparently UF only accepts 2 transfer students out of the entire cohort which is crazy! Don't let that stop you guys, though! Is anyone in here a transfer student that DID get accepted ???

yes i am a transfer and i got into cocoa

Reasoning is they are already UCF students and most applied to UCF as pre-nursing and were accepted to UCF out of high school. It has to do with being a transfer student. Unless you already have an AA degree you are not garenteed admissions and having an AA doesn’t necessarily mean you will get accepted into the college of your choice. You all have excellent stats and I’m sorry you didn’t get into the program of your choice.

I saw an advisor back on December and she told me if I get 86 on teas I’m good and have a high chance to get accepted. I was suprised that I didn’t even get waitlisted!

So what is the likelihood of getting into the cocoa program, if you got waitlisted??? Anyone have any idea?

Also, does anyone have good ideas for back-up plans for people that didn't get in a program? I didn't really make a plan for not getting in and now I feel like I really need a second option! Thanks!

Check out the concurrent program that UCF has with Valencia and Seminole State!

Accepted to Daytona, yet waitlisted to Orlando. My stats are as follows:

Overall GPA: 4.0

Pre-Req GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 92.7

I'm surprised I was waitlisted for Orlando. As you all stated above, it may have to do with the fact that all of my college courses are transfer credits from Daytona State College. I live in Volusia County and was waitlisted for UCF's housing near the main campus anyway, so maybe it was meant! Either way, I'm blessed to have been accepted into Daytona and am accepting my seat into the program.

as someone said above, concurrent programs are a great plan b and if not, then getting your CNA would give you good experience and $$

As a UCF student who got accepted for the main campus program, I disagree with people saying they should give priority to UCF students. Maybe slightly. But when I see people with 3.8's and 4.0's and high TEAS scores getting rejected or waitlisted and I personally know people with 3.6's and 80's on the TEAS that got in, doesn't seem right to me. Hard work is hard work. I think its unfair to punish people who put in just as much simply because they couldn't afford a university right out of high school. But like others are saying, Seminole and Valencia have great programs. You'll graduate maybe a semester or two later but at the end of the day we'll all have the same degree, a BSN from UCF. Don't get discouraged.

My backup plan now is to start my bachelors at UCF for a different major and then reapply next year. Hopefully me being a UCF student next year will help in my application.

For future applicants: overall 3.86/prereq 4.0/teas 78.7 - denied to Orlando campus, transfer from Valencia

that’s right guys you can apply to the concurrent program in May if you are waitlisted/denied. It’s basically the same pre reqs. In hindsight I probably should’ve applied to Cocoa as well but it was a little far.

There’s also the ASN program at Valencia that’s first come first serve but if you meet the requirements you do get in the program when there is seats available. You get your RN and I am pretty sure you can complete your BSN online at UCF after ?
