UCF Fall 2011 Hopefuls

Published

Hello! I am applying for the nursing program at UCF for the Fall of 2011. I am really excited and really hope that I get accepted. Is there anybody else on here that has applied yet or is planning to apply?

Hi All!

I have also applied to UCF for fall 2011. I had to wait until I took the TEAS, which I took today, to complete my nursing app. I have also applied to USF, UFL, FSU, Univ of MD, and Univ of Missouri, St. Louis. I have been accepted to UMSL so far but am trying to make my way to the east coast so my husband can be with me while I go to school (we are in the military). Good luck to everyone! :)

Welcome Kynchanted :)

Congrats on your acceptance to UMSL, and best of luck to you!

Finally, I got my acceptance to the University. I am told now we have to wait 6 weeks for decisions on the Nursing program. It's going to be a long 6 weeks.:uhoh3:

That's great that you received your acceptance letter. About the 6 weeks. Are you sure that it's 6 weeks from now because when I called, they told me that it was 6 weeks after the deadline, which is not until Feb 15th. It would be great though if it really is 6 weeks from today. I can't wait!

No, you are right. I wasn't specific as to what I meant. Sorry. I will rephrase.......It's going to be a long 8 weeks! LOl Good luck trying to keep your mind off the wait. I know I'm going to find that very challenging, to say the least.

I've also applied for the UCF Fall 2011 BSN program. Does anyone have any stats for the program, like how many apply, get accepted, average GPA's, TEAS scores, etc. Also, is there an interview process? Do they take into consideration any past medical experience?

I have a 4.0GPA and scored 88.7% on the TEAS V. I'm hoping that will get my foot in the door.

I'm thinking of applying for the Fall 2011 traditional, and I know the deadline is looming. Does anyone know if I can still apply even if I am waiting on a decision for the summer accelerated program?

EDIT: Never mind, I just found out the answer to my own question, and that is YES.

They have started reviewing applications because I have received an email from the College of Nursing that they are still missing my CLEP scores transcripts which I had ordered weeks ago. Because of this, the review of my application has halted until they see that my scores have been updated by the Registrar's office. (yikes!) I am A little disappointed since I thought the school would have updated my scores by now.

The website states that "[a]ll applications are reviewed after the final deadline." So, applying earlier does not give one an advantage in admissions. They are probably checking to make sure everything is in but not reviewing for "numbers" just yet.

Hi Paco! My CLEP scores were eventually found and they updated my records accordingly. I know they have not officially reviewed applications for decision making. I was just nervous because I wanted to make sure my scores were in my records by the deadline. It took several weeks, but we are good now. I can finally relax and just wait. :)

Today is the deadline! 6 more weeks. I wonder how many applications they received.

The interview notice for UNF said that there were over 550 applicants. UCF is a larger school so i would imagine that there are as many applicants, if not more.

Does that number seem kind of low for UNF, especially these days? I remember @ the info session they mentioned getting something like 2,000 applications in prior years but they end up weeding out many of them for not completing applications as directed, not having 3.0 in prior bachelor's (for accelerated program), etc. So I suppose 550 was the number that made the cut in terms of the numbers and completing applications properly but the top 150 got interviews. That's my guess anyway! :)
