UCF Cocoa

Is anyone applying for UCF at the Cocoa/Daytona campus for Spring semester 2011? I've been working at this for soooo long and I was hoping to find other people out there too for moral support!

Wow! I got in!! I think I am still in shock. the last 18 hours have been pretty rough, but I got in!! Good luck to everyone and I'll see the Cocoa class in January!!

I got in to!!! I have been looking at this constantly, and finally decided to make an account !! I cannot wait to meet everyone at UCF cocoa program :) Congrats everyone !!!:)

To everyone else that got in, I congratulate you and I'm looking forward to being a classmate. I'm sure that many of us have met in past classes - I just wish I knew who you all were!

Would anyone else be interested in having a quick get-together on a Sunday night in a few weeks. I know that previous groups on allnurses.com who have sweated the admissions process , have gotten together between acceptance and the beginning of classes to meet and greet. I'd suggest a coffee shop someplace in central Brevard (I don't drink coffee but it seems like a safe and convenient place - and I'm sure I'll be drinking plenty of coffee before the nursing program is over in 2 years!!) I think it would be a chance to meet each other, talk about what steps we still have to go through, and maybe even pat ourselves on the back a bit. If anyone's interested, let me know and give me some suggestions. I'll throw out Sunday, September 12th, @ 7:30pm as a possible night.

To those of you who didn't get in (this time), I'm very sorry for you and I can't imagine the disappointment that you're feeling right now. But please keep your heads up and remember that you've put a LOT of work into everything to this point, and now's not the time to give up. There are other programs and there will be more opportunities to apply. I know from talking to the advisor in Orlando, that next year, the admission criteria will be different, and they will be spitting up the points between the TEAS score, total GPA, and pre-req GPA, so if you're good on pre-reqs but not so good on total GPA, if you kick-ass on the TEAS you'll be in a better position to get accepted. :twocents: Best wishes.

I got in too! I just found this discussion board and figured I would join in. Does anyone know what we're supposed to do with the e-mail? I am going to call on Monday but I didn't know if anyone had already found out.

I would love to meet up with everyone but since I live in Orlando I'm not sure if I will be able to make it on that Sunday. Someone make a facebook page and post the link!

Leigh1203: I called the nursing office yesterday and they said the letter must be delivered (or faxed) to the Orlando office.

Also did anyone figure out our expected semester of graduation?

Wow, a lot of you on here are going to Cocoa. I'm the only one on here that's going be at the Daytona campus so far. I hope I can meet someone before on here that will be going to school with me before January. I called over to Orlando yesterday and the girl I spoke to said we can bring the email to Orlando, or Daytona or Cocoa and that if we brought it to Daytona or Cocoa that someone in the office would fax it to Orlando for us. I also asked her if we would be getting an information packet in the mail and she said that we would get more information in an email. I find it so odd that they are doing it all by email this year. I mean I guess it's a good way to save paper lol.

I'm all for saving the environment :) I think everything is just starting to sink in now - it didn't seem real on Thursday. Hopefully some mote Daytona folk will be on here soon enough. If not, they'll be having an orientation session later in the year so you will be able to meet everyone then.
