Hello there!
I will be applying to UCF's Basic BSN program that starts in the spring of 2015 at the Cocoa and Daytona campuses. The application window is from July 15th to August 16th. Anyone else planning to apply? :)
Hello you guys! I Applied last year to the Daytona program and got in, if you guys have questions about the process please feel free to let me know! Last year there were about 150 applicants and about 90 signed up for their interviews. So once we made it to the interview stage the chances were looking very good! Don't stress too much about GPA's or TEAS Scores because they arent everything :)
In case you were wondering, my stats were:
Overall GPA: 3.88
Pre-req GPA: 3.88
TEAS: 86.7
Please do not use this as a benchmark! The average scores of people getting accepted vary from year to year and are also based on the average of the people who apply to the program.
Hopefully I'll get to meet you guys pretty soon!
I'm not the person to ask if there are interviews or not this year, I do not know. The first semester the clinical groups are split into 3 areas, and you do different things in the community like helping at homeless shelters or adult day care centers or with a school nurse. The second half of that first semester the clinical will be at a Long Term Care Facility in your respectful area. Other than that first semester I believe clinicals are held mostly at Halifax and *maybe* some at Florida Hospital Ormond.

One more question for you (for now haha). Do clinicals or classes or anything happen on the weekend or does it all generally happen throughout the week? I'm debating whether or not to keep my job on the weekends.
Thank you!
Hi everyone! I'm a little late in joining the thread but I figured I would add my stats as well. It seems we all have an adequate chance of getting in given the number of previous applicants last year! I have already been accepted to a nursing program at home (Santa Fe College in Gainesville) but chose to decline the invitation so I could apply at UCF. I am already readmitted to UCF (I was a previous student) so I am really hoping I will get into this program! I am very excited to start classes if I do get accepted and I look forward to (hopefully) seeing all of you at the nursing orientation! Good luck to everyone- here are my stats-
TEAS- 86.7
Overall nursing GPA- 3.59 (my degree audit shows two different overall GPA's not sure which to consider)
Overall UCF GPA- 3.66
Pre-req GPA- 3.88 - All A's, One B
Science GPA- 3.77 - All A's One B
Looking at everyone else's stats it seems most everyone has a strong point and a lower point whereas mine kind of falls in between everything which makes me really nervous but I'm keeping my hopes up!
Also- is anyone else looking for roomates? I will be moving to the cocoa area from home and don't really want a one bedroom price tag
Hey ya'll,
New to this thread. I have been checking almost daily (OK, maybe 3-4 times a day) for any changes on the application status. Today it turned red (still says eligible), and stated that my Certified background check has not been received, whereas previously it was grayed out and also said eligible. Has this happened to anyone else?
As far as stats go, TEAS: 80.7; GPA: 3.47 overall cumulative, 3.89 UCF cumulative (one semester away from BS in psychology), 4.0 for prereqs and science.

150 in total isn't bad at all! That's like 1 spot for every 2 applicants, I'm pretty confident that all of us are going to get in! We have about 3-5 more weeks now until we hear back!
