  1. Hello, I have been contemplating putting together a packet for the Navy Nurse Corp. Unfortanetly it's been hard to get a good idea of what reserve nurses do on their drill weekends and 2 week active duty time. I was told by one medical recruiter that your weekends are spent in clinics doing physicals and drawing blood. There is some training available but nothing breathtaking. So what do you do as a reserve nurse? What training is available? Also, is enroute-care available to nurses in the reserve? Thanks for the answers, just want some info because I don't want to join if I'm going to be doing the exact same stuff that I'd be doing as a civilian nurse.
  2. I'm a currently in the Daytona program. As far as books go, get them as cheap as possible and don't rent them since you will need them the entire program. If you are like me you won't utilize the books so much, instead you will utilize the instructors power points and other materials much more. Also. Have you guys created a Facebook group for your class? You should since it is much more effective for communication. You can have a different group for each campus. if you have any other questions I'll get to them.
  3. armymedic1, Join Facebook and join the Daytona group, it can only benefit you! Cant wait to meet https://www.facebook.com/groups/831437446897154/
  4. OK, I made a FB group for the Daytona campus. Search UCF Daytona Nursing c/o 2016 URL: https://www.facebook.com/groups/831437446897154/ If you're attending the Daytona program join up!
  5. So... does anyone want to start a Facebook group? I notice the other classes have them, one for Cocoa and one for Daytona.
  6. NurseKnightro Can you tell me about the cost of the first semester? (i.e.- books, tuition, uniforms, other stuff). Thanks
  7. I used the ATI study guide as well as the Mcgraw- Hill study guide, the test isn't that hard if you have a good understanding of science. I made an 89 on the TEAS, I found the grammar and language usage parts the most difficult and the math and science were the easiest, but that's me. And yes, it was close to the study guides, although the science part was slightly more difficult, and the math section is basic stuff that you would have learned already. I suggest you start studying about 1-2 months before the test and complete all of the practice tests in the study guides. Also, I don't think the HESI will pass for the TEAS, but I'm not sure.
  8. The email specified that you will need: - Records of your childhood immunizations. - Varicella vaccination/proof of vaccination/ titer. - Current Tdap booster. - HepB immunization. - proof of health insurance. - American Heart Association CPR. - Physical examination. Thats all folks.
  9. Speaking of email, did anyone get an email from Connie Washam? She said the decision would be made by October 10th, and that we should get a head start on our vaccinations.
  10. They will send a notification to your Knights email if you're accepted. If your denied they send it to whatever email address you have on file with them. You can get this information if you check the status of your application.
  11. I remember an advisor telling me there will not be any interviews this year.
  12. Does anyone know exactly when they will give us confirmation as to whether or not we were accepted? I'd assume it would be in mid October but I'm not sure.
  13. I've heard of people getting in with lower scores than yours.
  14. Since we're talking stats, GPA: 3.61 pre-reqs: 4.00 TEAS: 88.7 Those are mine. Hopefully we will all get in.
