Anyone else applying?
I am not sure exactly what hospitals/clinical sites are used. I would probably guess all available in central Florida to give us as much of an experience about all the surrounding cities within the Orlando Metro area. As far as ARNP Program, that's my long term goal, so hopefully I will be able to bombard you with questions about your SO who did that..but that's later after we get in and become RNs..yes thinking positive thoughts...oh the days are dragging and the anticipation is sooo hard-lol. I wonder how many applicants there are...oh the wondering continues....
Yes I do! Not so bad a switch considering I have been working in a non-legal management job for the last several years (one I took while I figured out what exactly I should be doing with my life, and I finally figured it out almost 2 years ago). Although I would love to attend UCF, I realize it's extremely competitive and as with 78taylor99 it won't be the end of the world if I don't get in. I also have other choices and have plans B and C in place so I don't feel that dreaded What Am I Going To Do feeling. I won't give up until I get that RN license!
Paco69, I have my J.D. and hoping to get into UCF's Accelerated BSN. Looks like you are one year ahead of me. I have a few more prereq's to do this summer and the TEAS test to take. Good luck!!!

Great! More and more lawyers are entering nursing. Soon enough I won't be so unique in the field ... Thanks for the good vibes, I do look forward to hearing from UCF and I hope it is soon! This has been a brutal wait and I am a pretty patient person! :)
I called College of Nursing today and was told we will know by March 1st. I hope it'll be this Friday, but I guess it could by anywhere from now until March 15th. I have heard different responses, Feb 26th, March 1st, and March 15th, so am unsure as to which one it'll be..hopefully this Friday(wishful thinking). I have 2 different job opportunities I need to make a decision by this Sunday, which are all depending on my nursing status, so I hope hope hope we find out this weekend and not March 15th. I can't sleep either and am so stressed out and just want to know. Im glad Im not the only one feeling the stress.
So we could have lawyers in our class which will be great to help us understand legal issues in healthcare, I am a special education teacher with experience in kids ages 2-22, so I can help with growth and development when it comes to peds..so looks like we will all be able to help each other:o)
I just can't wait until we become RNs:o)
When I met with the academic coordinator/advisor a couple of weeks ago I asked how many viable/competitive candidates fail to petition the APG for out-of-state courses for course substitution (prereq) by the appropriate date. I was surprised to learn as many as 10-15. Imagine that - all that work and an omission in paying attention to the "submit by" date!

I kinda wish it were more .... that way there would be more hope for us that did comply with that requirement! I took care of that APG petition in the fall, I knew that would be a pain so I got it out of the way even before the nursing application came out.
I called the CON this morning, and I was also told we should still know by March 1st. Hopefully we will find out really soon!
March 1 is next Tues ... 5 days away, it will be here before you know it. And if it takes later in the week, oh well. How are we supposed to hear decisions first? Do they email or will we wait for a letter by US mail?

Oh the wait... I'm in the same boat, I feel like my life is on hold until I know which program I'm going to. It was Valencia that had the transcript mishap, but the Nursing school counselor told me that all of the Nursing school applicants' transcripts get input first before the general UCF applicants. My Valencia transcript was input relatively quick, even before the Jan 15 deadline. I hope we don't have to wait until March 15, that's just torture. I looked on the boards from last year's class and they were notified by Feb 24, so let's keep our fingers crossed that we find out by Friday. Good Luck everyone :)
