UCF Accelerated BSN 2011-2012

Anyone else applying? :clown:

Thank you for the update. It is a shame about the delay though.

Seems like all my schools have been delaying their decision release dates by a few weeks, except for UNF. Gets frustrating but unfortunately it's out of our hands. Clearly, more and more people are applying to nursing programs.

It is like waiting for Willie Wonka's Golden Ticket!

This process is killing me...I just want it to be over. In or out...I just want to know so that I can move forward :banghead:

I agree! March hurry up!!

Yes, my life is on hold until mid-March. That's a freaking shame! :p

Is anyone else confused? When I call to find out when we will find out, someone says March 1st, then I hear March 15th, and so I called yesterday (Feb 18) and asked..and they said 6 weeks after deadline(which technically is feb 26)..so ahh I just wanna know! I have had all my pre-reqs completed for a cpl years, received my undergrad and grad degree in another field from UCF, I got an 85 on the teas v, and I have a 3.5 gpa, so I know their are others who have done better, so that makes me even more nervous! I wonder how many applicants their are! I also applied for fall, I heard it wouldn't mess anything up, but if you get into accelerated than thats the one they'd place you in rather than fall. I actually met a current BSN Accelerated student today in my cpr class, and she prepped me that its very intense, so everyone be prepared. I wish you all the best of luck, and hopefully we all get in and will become RNs together!! *I hope everyone posts the second they get their email, because I will be honest-I check mine at least 10 times a day lol-hopeful!

Anxiously awaiting to hear....

hmm, well maybe there is still hope that we will have a decision this month. i am also supposed to hear from fau by the end of the month, and it has been pretty nerve-racking with all the waiting. i receive my emails on my phone, so i will definitely post once i hear from ucf. i also went ahead and applied to the traditional program at ucf in addition to the accelerated. i am applying to one more traditional program (uwf) while i am waiting on hearing decisions for the accelerated programs. hopefully i have given myself enough back-ups and something will come through.

I have a couple of questions for current students of the ABSN if they read this thread:

(1) What is the total cost of attendance for the program? I'm talking tuition (FL resident), fees, uniform, books, room, board, personal expenses, etc? I would like to know how much the expense will be for the year in order to budget accordingly.

(2) Does anyone know the hospitals in the Orlando area that UCF contracts with for clinicals? Are Arnold Palmer and Winnie Palmer two of these sites for peds and OB respectively? Curious to know, thanks!

Good luck to you as well! I will post when I hear something. :)

I got the date of March 15 from the undergraduate academic coordinator/advisor. It would be nice to hear sooner, but I suspect the delay may be at least partly due to the registrar's office. This year UCF seems particularly backlogged in uploading transcripts. It is my understanding that there was a computer issue from one of the local community colleges regarding their students records - I think this backed up UCF for spring admission students, which probably means that summer admissions are also behind by domino effect - at least, that's my guess. I know I have had to make a couple of trips to UCF to sort out errors in my own transcripts - I can't be the only one.

My SO did the ABSN and ARNP at UCF a few years ago - I remember he went to Arnold Palmer, I don't believe that Winnie was open then.
