Anyone else applying?
So we're less than a month from the start of classes and I'm still waitlisted. Here's my theory: There are probably many people that have accepted a position in UCF's program AND accepted a position at another school. They are waiting until last minute to decide which school they'd like to attend. Therefore, a week or two before classes start, these students will make up their minds and might decide to NOT attend UCF, which will open up more spot for the waitlisters. What do you think? Also, what's the exact start date of classes?
- Anyone else get offered a spot off the waitlist?
- Anyone else still undecided on which school to attend?
Sorry I'm getting super anxious! I told my job that I might be leaving soon and they've already hired a possible replacement.

I let UCF know I was not attending about a month ago, I figured that was more than enough time to get someone to replace me from the waitlist and have them get ready to start the program and I thought that would happen like right away. If I recall correctly, orientation is like May 11 & 12 and classes begin May 16, so yeah, time is now of the essence. There seems to also be an extensive background check along with immunization and physical exam requirements, all which take time -- not to mention financial aid and all that -- so I would think they would want people in place by now. I think it is unfair for people to hang on to their decisions until the last minute and make people like you wait who would at the drop of a hat attend UCF, but I really should not judge because I can't really say that I would not do it either in that circumstance. I am just glad I was able to make my choice of schools during a time when I thought someone else could get going with UCF and what they require. Shame that you have to wait so long and especially given the fact that you are in a position as you are with your job. I hope it gets resolved soon! I know I took @ 3 weeks to decide with two accepted offers in hand, but I knew I would decide in time without feeling I was keeping someone from unduly waiting .. I am just considerate that way. Trust me, I KNOW what it feels like to be on a waitlist!

I'm with Paco...I denied at UCF after much deliberation and it took me about 3 weeks as well. It actually set me back a few weeks in getting my requirements done. There is a lot to do in a little time. I hope you finally get called off the waitlist. I have a friend waiting to hear as well.
I've just been accepted off the waitlist!! Got a voicemail at around noon today asking if I would be interested if a couple of accepted students who had not yet RSVP'd made other plans. I said "Yes!" and was told they would be sending an e-mail later this afternoon should that be the case. They sent it, I signed and faxed it back to them (as it has a 5/2 deadline). Just an FYI and definitely not gloating or bragging-- Paco69, Pitterpatti and others who declined as soon as they knew for sure they would not be going, I applaud you, as it is not an easy thing to do, letting go of a spot reserved for you!--and so very considerate of you. UCF said it starts in only about two weeks from now!

Yay congrats for getting the call! I feel I made the right decision for me and I know Paco does too. I think we both felt we had to let UCF know as soon as we decided so that someone like you could get their chance. I know they called some other people too because the girl I was supposed to room with at UNF decided to take a position offered to her at UCF. She is a UCF alum like myself and felt it was better suited to her. I'm just glad so many great people are getting a chance to be in the program they need to be in for themselves!
Good luck everybody!
For those who were accepted, if you guys don't mind me asking... I have applied for the BSN program at the Cocoa campus starting Spring of 2012 and I was wondering what type of grades you have. I have applied already, the deadline to apply is July 1st so I know I will not hear anything for a little while but I just wanted to know what to expect. Thanks in advance!
