  1. Sorry, haven't checked back in awhile. Honestly, I am about to start my 3rd semester (out of 5) and I feel like the instructors are great and prepare students well. The program is challenging but certainly do-able. I am interested in pediatrics. Cocoa campus is great, we are much smaller. Instead of having 120+ students like Orlando we started with 37. Great number for getting to know the instructors and asking questions. :)
  2. I'm currently enrolled in the University of Central Florida's BSN nursing program. It really is a great program. I'm at the Cocoa campus, instead of main campus in Orlando. From my point of view, honestly great instructors. Good luck! :)
  3. Hi Amy, I am going to inbox you the link to the facebook page. Look forward to seeing you there! :)
  4. That's really cool you were able to transfer to Cocoa. I could not imagine driving over to Daytona all the time. I am going to inbox message you the link to our facebook page. Like I said, it's a sad looking page... lol. :)
  5. I actually just messaged our person about the fingerprinting yesterday. My status was still at like 67% or something. The first two steps were completed but the third step was waiting on them to approve. The lady I emailed told me not to worry as long as the first two parts are done, I am fine. It will take the college a little while to verify and approve me "for placement". Did you make your allnurses account when you were waiting to hear back from the college? I like how similar our user-names are. Its kinda funny. :) Prayers were answered! :)
  6. That's cool. One of the other girls on this wall is from Melbourne. I live in Cocoa which is great. I only live like 5 minutes from the campus so it is very convenient. I am thankful because I will not be working once the program starts so saving money on gas is a must. Since you were already accepted to Daytona, were you given the book list? Someone sent it to me but I haven't purchased any books yet.
  7. Hi, Rebecca! Congrats on getting accepted. I started a Facebook page but it only has one other person on it. Not much of a page... :) So what area do you live in? I noticed you switched from Daytona to Cocoa. I look forward to meeting you in December! :)
  8. I took A&P II and Microbiology the same semester while working 25 hours a week. It's certainly possible. A&P II and Micro are both based completely on memorization. Be prepared to stay on top of the material. As long as you stay on top of it, it's do-able. Once you start to fall behind, it gets harder and harder to catch up and do well. I got in the habit of spending about a half hour every evening reading over the material and it helped me to keep the material fresh. Good luck, it is certainly do-able. Just keep pushing on! :)
  9. Oh, I am going to Cocoa. Hopefully, they will send us the list soon. Sure, if you wouldn't mind private messaging me the list, that would be great. :)
  10. Awesome, bsnmom023 that is a really good price. Where are you guys finding the exact book list? Thanks. :)
  11. That's great to know. Thanks. I hope this question doesn't seem silly but I was reading the Nursing handbook and it was detailing proper attire to where to class. How strict is the overall dress code requirement? The handbook says "no jeans". It looks like I will be going clothes shopping. I don't have much "business-casual" style clothes. :)
  12. I agree. I heard that the meet and greet was going to be during the first week of December. Who knows. I'm curious what I should expect to spend for the books. Right now, I'm saving money like crazy because I've heard some of the things we will need to get done before the start of the program can be kind of costly.
  13. I just received my first strand of emails from UCF regarding the Nursing program. The sender's name is Teresa Youngman. I received three emails. The first email is titled "Welcome + Knights E-Mail". It was a generic email informing that we will receive more emails from her to help us prepare for the start of the Nursing program, plus the request to set up our Knights Email address. The second email titled "Housing" detailed housing. Finally, the third email is basically the same as the first titled "Welcome + Knights Email... Instuctions attached". This email instructs how to set up a Knight email address. Good luck everyone! :)
  14. Just to give everyone a heads up, I called the College of Nursing and they told me that the information packet (which is sent out as an email) would either be sent out Friday the 16th or Monday the 19th. As of this morning, I still have not received an email from them. I think they like to take their time on everything. So I guess we should be sure to check our email daily because I have heard that the email comes with a pretty good list of things to get done in a timely manner. :) Look forward to meeting some of you soon!
