Anyone else applying? :clown:

I can't believe I forgot to post here yesterday. I got in to the accelerated program...I also got into UCF accelerated, so I have a big decision to make! Tonight my husband and I are having one last discussion about which school I should attend, and I will be either emailing tonight letting them know that I'm with UNF or I will continue with UCF (already sent back the preliminary acceptance). I'm still very torn about which school to attend :(

P.S. I will be getting an apartment in either Jax or Orlando for during the week, so I will be looking for roommates in the program!

I was wondering about you! Congratulations! :yeah: I know how difficult that decision must be, I trust you will make the best one!

OK you guys on the waiting list. I just officially declined my spot. Good luck!

Thank you everybody for the congratulations. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I still have not made a decision on which school to attend, but I will hopefully figure it out by Monday giving one hopeful waitlist person a spot.

Attention UCF waitlisters!

A seat is soon to be yours ... I have decided to attend another school. I'd like to think my seat will go to a waitlister on allnurses :D ...

Good luck to all of you!

Which school did you choose?

Which school did you choose?

Stony Brook, in New York. I'm trading my flip-flops for boots  ... but it's only for a year, right? :D

Paco, this is very exciting news for me lol. Still crossing my fingers hoping to get that call from UCF =)

For those of you who did not get into the UCF program for summer, I wanted to give you some information. There is a new program starting at Chamberlain College of Nursing in Jacksonville, FL. It is a hybrid second degree BSN program. It is schedule to start in July 2011 if they are able to get enough qualified students. The program is set up to have the theory courses online and of course you have to do clinicals with each course. The school is in Jacksonville and you have to travel there I believe 4 times throughout the 13 months it takes to complete the program. Once for orientation, and then twice in semester 1 for 5 days each, and a 5 day period at the end before you graduate and take the NCLEX. They do a lab at the end of session A and session B that you have to attend to learn skills in the first semester. The clinical sites are set up mostly in Orlando, Ocala, and Tampa. I believe there are some in other areas, but that is where the majority are. There are some prereqs that have to be met, but there is still some time to pick up a couple if need be. They are still accepting applications until mid May for the July 2011 start, so if you did not get into UCF, this may be an option for some people. Just thought I would let everyone know as we are all trying our hardest to get our nursing degrees finished!

Chamberlain College of Nursing in Jacksonville =

Private Tuition = $650 per credit hour

OUCH

All private schools are expensive, but it might be a good option for some people who did not get into UCF and do not want to wait until the next application cycle to start. Just putting it out there.

Alana,

You are right, some younger students can afford the tuition debt.

I believe more information is more valuable than less information.

CHEERS!

I am in the Ucf Accelerated BSN program right now. I know of 4 people who

were originally waitlisted that got in.

Good luck.

It is a hard program. But worth it. :)
