I haven't seen a thread for this application cycle yet, so thought I'd start one.

I don’t know anything about cocoa and Daytona? Which place is better?

Hi yes I applied to fall too! I wasn’t sure which I would like better and couldn’t find ANYTHING online comparing them! I couldnt even find pictures of what the nursing classrooms would look like. I have heard they are both amazing/similar programs. I ended up just yolo-ing it and putting cocoa first since it’s closer to my friends and family in orlando

I'm probably not contributing anything substantive to your questions but I actually grew up in Daytona Beach! It's a pretty cool place. Def not a big city like Orlando but it has a pretty cool vibe and the beaches are good too (not as nice as west coast or northern/Jax beaches) when tourists are nice to them! I know there is a UCF campus near International Speedway Blvd and Clyde Morris (zip 32174 maybe). I'm assuming this is the campus where nursing classes take place, but I honestly don't know.

If so, it is close/adjacent to Halifax Health Hospital and Mainland High School. If they do clinicals locally, you might slide into Halifax which is a really good place to learn IMO. I have lots of friends who go to the local community college (Daytona State College) and do their ASN clinicals and get hired at Halifax very easily. I wish I had more information on the actual program though! Another hospital in the area is Advent. Which is also a really great place. If you want to live in Daytona, the housing/apartment market is def cheaper than what you'd find in orlando. A good thing about living in Daytona is that traffic really doesn't get bad unless it's Bike Week or NASCAR. So living further away from campus doesn't make a huge difference on commute time.

was it easy to apply to UCF? Was it like doing the UCF Orlando ABSN app again? I might apply since it is so close to home and the orlando ABSN application process is kicking my butt ?

Dang this made me want to put daytona first:(

UCF by far has given me the most trouble to apply for…. and I’m a readmitted student at that ?. Anyone else's degree audit show they don’t satisfy the upper level semester unites required? They converted some of my 3xxx courses to 2xxx ?. I am not sure if that will disqualify my application.

yeah mine has that exactly. Weird though since you're a readmitted student! You would think they just transfer your stuff over? IDK. It's taking a while to get any sort of application feedback. I think I'm just gonna have to let this one sit and figure itself out unfortunately.

Yea I’m just going to relax and see where this goes LOL.

I thought the upper level semester units mean the nursing courses.

You're fine, you'll satisfy those requirements when you take the upper-level classes in the nursing program!

IDK bc its legit saying I’m short ONE credit in that section. Don’t remember the exact number but it’s saying “39 taken, 1 needed, 40 overall needed” or smthing like that

ohh that is good to hear! I was confused trying to figure out the audit. As a transfer student I completed upper level coursework so I didn't get why it wasn't there. I have never used UCF's audit system so I didn't know how to read it. I guess I'll just ride this one out out ?
