UC Denver Traditional Program 2018

Published

Hello Everyone!

I thought it would be a good idea to post a forum for anyone who is applying to the University of Denver Traditional nursing program. I just finished my application about two weeks ago and I was wondering who all have done the same!?

I noticed it is a different schedule for interviews this year, it is much later now. We don't do interviews till January 12th and then we find out around February 15th.

Has anyone ever applied before? This is my first time.

Alyssa

I'm so excited to have an invitation to interview as well. I will graduate from Colorado State in May with a bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in pre health! See y'all there!

Does anyone know what kind of questions they will ask?

No idea. But I sure wish we knew!

Have any of ya'll interviewed anywhere else/have questions from that that could give an idea of ones we may be asked at Colorado?

If accepted (praying, wishing, hoping!) I would be moving from Illinois. Does anyone know what areas/cities near Aurora's Anschutz Medical Campus and also what areas near Parker, CO Campus are best to live in? Safety is #1 priority, but cost is right up there too and access to campus and possible clinical locations. ANY help at all is appreciated!! :)

The immediate surrounding area of the anschutz location is not good. But the good news is the light rail has a stop right at the medical campus so you look up light rail stops and see what might be convient for you. If you're looking for more of a suburban feel, South Aurora is great. There's not much near the Parker location in terms of public transportation. I believe there's a light rail stop near Lincoln and I-25 but you would have to take a bus after that. I'm not sure where all the clinical locations are at but for sure university hospital and children's which are both at the anschutz location. I hope this helps a little.

Thanks!! I appreciate it. What is Westminster Arvada, Thornton like?

What are ya'll wearing to the interview?

Parker is a really safe area with lots of light rail access. There's a light-rail station at Lincoln and i-25 and they are also extending it to Ridgegate and i-25. From these light rail stops, you are able to take the "R" line which takes you directly to the Anshutz medical campus. If you are looking for saftey, I would look into Parker regardless of which campus you are at since access will be simple for either! There are a TON of apartment complexes within the Lincoln light rail station. I know that the IMT ones are pretty cheap for the area and are a 5 minute walk to the station! I live right in that area so let me know if you have any questions, I am happy to help!

I believe they are sending another email out today that will probably address that. But from people I have talked to; dress pants, nice blouse, and a blazer seem appropriate.

That's what I thought but I haven't received anything yet. Would they still send them out this late in the day?

Emails just went out! I was assigned the morning session so will be there bright and early at 7:30am. Anyone want to meet up during the breakfast welcome?
