  1. Hello everyone, I graduated back in May with my BSN and passed my NCLEX end of June, and I have yet to find a new grad RN job. I live in Colorado and many hospitals have either canceled their new grad cohort for August or they only hired internally. I have 5 years of CNA experience in an ICU, and sadly the hospital I work at was one of the ones that cancelled their new grad cohort. I have applied to many places for Fall Nurse Residencies, but still have yet to hear back from any. How is everyone else doing during this time? I am feeling very discouraged and am not even excited to be a nurse anymore which I never thought I would say. I feel like I worked so hard the last 4 years only to feel discouraged. Thanks for reading.
  2. I requested to join it is a private group so you need to approve me
  3. Never mind I found it!
  4. I can't find it can you add me? My name is Alyssa Schiffer
  5. I got in to Anshutz!!!!!! So excited. Happy for everyone as well!
  6. Everyday! But knowing people who have applied in the past and looking at past forums, they normally wait till around 7-9 pm on the day they say they will send the email. So I would just expect that haha.
  7. Totally! Sorry my answer didn't say but what I meant from my response was that it can be called either. The formal way is UCD but everyone normally says CU nursing :) so either one you say normally everyone knows what you are talking about.
  8. The full name is the University of Colorado Denver, or UCD for short. But yes as someone said bellow, anshutz is one of 4 locations. It can be called either and CU is definitely the nickname of the schools. But formally it will be University of Colorado Denver.
  9. I felt it went really well too! I was in the morning session and I was one of the first groups to interview so it was nice to get out of the way first thing. This month will go by so slow because I am so impatient to find out!
  10. I got the interview as well! See you all there. I know that it is a group interview and you do a group activity as well that is about teamwork. They also ask everyone their own question as well. This is just what I have heard from previous friends who got into CU or got an interview.
  11. What is everyone's GPAs if you don't mind me asking? I know they look at prerequisite GPA the most and that at least needs to be 3.0, but I've heard they look at your cumulative GPA as well (correct me if I am wrong). My prerequisite GPA is a 3.82 and my cumulative is a 3.54 Alyssa
  12. Hey! I have heard they email people for the interview, and I heard that email will be sent out mid December.
  13. Luckily for the traditional program they do not require medical experience so you should still be good! I currently have been working at Children's Hospital in the PICU as a CNA for the last couple years. I am hoping that experience along with my volunteer work will look good to them, but you never know! It is so competitive...
  14. Yay! I'm glad. I am so nervous as well! I heard they will email us in the first couple weeks of December and then the interview is January 12th. I heard they accept around 180 applicants but they get around 800-900 applications too so that is so nerve racking! Do you have any medical experience at all? Alyssa
  15. Hello Everyone! I thought it would be a good idea to post a forum for anyone who is applying to the University of Denver Traditional nursing program. I just finished my application about two weeks ago and I was wondering who all have done the same!? I noticed it is a different schedule for interviews this year, it is much later now. We don't do interviews till January 12th and then we find out around February 15th. Has anyone ever applied before? This is my first time. Alyssa
