UC Davis Nurse Residency Program- Fall 2022

Hi everyone! I am applying to the UC Davis Nurse Residency Program for Fall 2022 and could not find a thread for this application period. Figured I would start one!

Does anyone know if they already finished interviewing for the October cohort? I wish I knew that they are done so that I don't keep on hoping.

I interviewed a few weeks ago for August start date but requested to start in October due to conflicts with my schedule and they were able to offer me a position for October. I say don’t lose hope just yet, wait another month or so to hear back about an interview! Good luck ?

I did not attend nursing school at UC Davis, worked there nor did any clinicals there.  I had a friend who was an OR tech there and didn't even get her application moved. I think they factor in volunteer work, awards and scholarships and preceptorship as well as a well written cover letter. I did volunteer there through a different organization affiliated with the children's hospital there though. I'm not sure about the others and I hope you hear from others too. It is very competitive.

Hello! I have no experience or associations with UC Davis, nor do I have any connections with anyone there. I think what set me off was my cover letter showcasing my skills, because I only have the basic RN, BLS, and ACLS certs. I was a caregiver for 5 years, but I didn’t have much to make me any more competitive. I was hired as a med surg float, so maybe doing my preceptorship on a med surg unit (note: not at UCD) and highlighting what I learned from it made me a top candidate for float.

Hi! I haven't seen anyone who has interviewed for OR yet, might've just missed it, but if you have been interviewed could you please let me know? Don't know if they're just taking a while or if I should just move on at this point...

A friend just told me that she was hired for the OR/cath lab and was offered the position 3 weeks ago.  I don't know how many people they are hiring,  but she starts in the August cohort. She was working for UCDMC already as an OR tech.

It has been posted in the fall chort page that someone has been hired for the PICU. I believe they are still interviewing for the October start date, but HR has confirmed that all positions for August has been filled. Good luck to you all.
