UC Davis Nurse Residency Program - Fall 2021

Hello,

Applications are open for the fall start of the Nurse Residency at UC Davis. I wanted to start the forum to discuss what unit(s) applicants are interested in, where are you from, etc. I submitted my application already and if anyone has any questions regarding the process, I'd be happy to help.

Any updates on October cohort interviews? My application was routed for further consideration forever ago, never heard anything from August cohort. Wondering when I should quit expecting a call for October. 

I emailed the program directors and they told me that unit managers may be interviewing for the October cohort until September 10. Seems like there is a possibility we might get a call still… Fingers crossed!

Hi everyone! I received a call to interview for the trauma med/surg unit at the beginning of August. I also received a link to fill out my references - have others received a call for an interview and then immediately were sent the link to fill in references? I was talking with someone who was offered a spot in July and she said that she received the survey at a different time, so I just want to check. And if anyone has any advice on interview Qs that would be super helpful! I'm so excited and really want this position. Thanks!!

Hi everyone! Congratulations to those who have accepted an offer. I created a facebook group for the cohort starting in August! I wasn't sure if there was one already... if there is one let me know and I can go ahead and delete this one.

Hey everyone FYI for those still waiting to hear something… I thought they were no longer doing interviews for the October cohort but I just received a call to schedule an interview with ICU this afternoon—  however I politely declined because I accepted a position with Stanford children’s health!

I would like to follow up with NurseLiza’s previous post. I received a call for to set up an interview in their SICU yesterday afternoon as well! There’s still hope!

I feel like I did poorly on my interview, and UC Davis is my top choice :(
Does anyone know when we should expect to hear back about the SkillsSurvey following the interview?

Also, how many spots there are typically for the different ICUs?
