UC Davis MEPN 2017

Published

Hi all,

Anyone applying to the UC Davis MEPN program starting 2017? I'm finally taking the plunge and applying to masters entry programs/ABSN programs this year after being out of undergrad for nearly 3 years.

Looking forward to starting a conversation and hope we can use this space as a media to offer support to one another!

Anybody heard back about the graduate application yet? Hoping that they will let us know soon!

Also, it looks like they have moved up the Graduate application deadline to December 14th (instead of February 1st), so hopefully that means we'll back sooner if we get invited to apply...

Haven't heard anything yet! Where did you find the graduate application deadline? I don't see it anywhere on the website.

I did get the email earlier this month though that my application was received and that all applicants will get an email notification by the end of November regarding the status of their application. So we probably won't hear anything until then.

Hey everyone,

I got invited to do a secondary application for UC Davis. Does anyone know the acceptance rate after getting through to the second round of applications?

Same here! I got the invitation today. Not sure what the acceptance rate is for this program. I know a few friends that was admitted last year and I will follow up with them regarding their secondary application process.

Hey I just received the same Email! Glad we are through the first round. I have no idea on the acceptance rate. They state a "Select pool of qualified applicants." I don't see anywhere that lists actual numbers. Good luck!

Hello! I just made an account so I could chime in and say I also received the same email. I'm wondering about the "select pool of applicants"/acceptance rate, too. I'm also curious about writing the new essay questions because many of them seem to overlap the topics they wanted covered in the first SOP.

I received that email today too! Congrats to everybody. I agree, the essay questions seem to overlap a lot with our original essay. It may be a different panel of admissions reading this application because it is for graduate studies in general?

I spoke with someone in the current cohort and she said that they didn't get invited to do secondary applications. I guess as the inaugural class, they just submitted their NursingCAS apps and then got accepted/admitted.

I had the same thought. The essay prompts are the same as the one on NursingCAS, but with a higher word count. I guess just expand on what we already wrote about?

Hi everyone, I also received the same email two days ago. I was curious what that meant for me going forward in the admission process so I asked a friend who is in the program right now. Her professor told her that they received several hundred applications and they narrowed down to about two hundred. After the secondary application process, they will choose 32 applicants. So nerve racking, good luck to everyone!

That is very nerve wracking! Thanks for this information bro22. Does anyone know how the first cohort is liking the program? Would love to hear!
