UC Davis MEPN 2017

Published

Hi all,

Anyone applying to the UC Davis MEPN program starting 2017? I'm finally taking the plunge and applying to masters entry programs/ABSN programs this year after being out of undergrad for nearly 3 years.

Looking forward to starting a conversation and hope we can use this space as a media to offer support to one another!

HI Gilaria2015

Where did you do your Bachelor's?

Would anyone know where to find stats from last year's accepted applicants?

Thanks,

Amanda

Hey pandanursetobe3, went to undergrad in the SF Bay Area. Not sure if you can find stats of the first cohort on the website, but I often refer to last years thread to get a sense of who applied. If there are any lurkers out there, please feel free to join in! The application is due in less than 4 weeks..ahhh!

Hey!

I am also applying to the program! How is your application coming along? I can't believe it is almost due.

I haven't seen any statistics from the cohort they just admitted.

Hey!! It's coming along alright..just need to continue to work on the question they're having us submit via NursingCAS. Has anyone inquired how many they are accepting this cohort?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

I would love to know some of the answers to these questions, particularly how many people they're accepting. I'd also like to know when we'll hear back by...but seeing as its a new program I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have a timeline for this yet. As for the stats from last year, I've been referring to https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/uc-davis-mepn-1030206-page2.html

According to their plan they will be accepting 24 students per year for the first two years of the program. So I would expect 24 for the 2017 cohort

Hi everyone,

New to All Nurses, been following this since I just pressed the submit button to UCD's MEPN program. Glad to see a forum like this started! I've been anticipating the start of the MEPN program for a while now and am excited to apply. I'm actually a career changer and wanted to see if there are any like me out there. Been in the public health sector doing a lot of policy work surrounding chronic disease prevention and hoping to get in and take next steps on being FNP. :) Just wanted to wish all those applying good luck and let's keep each other updated with the process (#nervouslywaiting) ;)

Wishing everyone the best of luck..now the painful waiting begins!! Is anyone else working on any other MEPN programs now that it's August 1?

Uff! I know the waiting is hard. I'm just working on the UCSF application right now and I'll being doing Samuel Merritt when it opens.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the waiting period? It seems like the last cohort knew w/in a month and a half, but I don't know if it'll be different since they were applying in February. Also, sounds like they may make us do a 'graduate application' as well if we're lucky enough to be considered. Has anyone had to do that kind of thing before? This is my first nursing school app so I haven't gotten with the program yet :cat:
