It does say "Strongly preferred"...so maybe she still has a chance.

I put my unit preference in my cover letter just in case.

My application for OR New Grad Program says Not in consideration any longer.

My application for New Grad Residency Program says Application received still.

I am climbing the walls. I was not aware that the preference for unit meant that that is all I would be considered for. I would have just put med-surg because it is more likely where there are more positions open. Does anyone know if they will consider you for any other opening?

I think I might be in the same OR boat. I have seen no movement and last I checked was 5PM yesterday. Disappointed. Just a little movement, gives a lot of hope and expectation. I will try next round again.

Don't give up...it is still ongoing and there are 2 cohorts. Until it says you are no longer in consideration you are still in application received phase.

I am hoping that next week we see some movement. But it bums me out some people were called for interviews right before xmas.

Right? And there is supposed to be a nurse shortage??? I moved here to Cali from Florida. They are giving nurse jobs away there, in fact some positions offer a couple thousand dollar sign-on incentive there are so many job available. And that is with Associate degrees even at the magnet hospitals like UF Shands. They give you X years to get your BSN and might even compensate for tuition. But you have to live in Florida, ugh.

There is, the only problem is not enough facilities either want to or have the funds to invest in new grads. Which is sad because the boomers are going to retire and a to. Of facilities are going to be stuck with unsafe staffing or paying travelers to make ends meet. When they could just be smart and invest in us! We’re hungry for knowledge and experience, we’re eager to learn and give all that we have to our patients.

wow.... if only things were like that in California

Well I have to say that the pay there is significantly lower (but cost of living is lower, but again...it's Florida ewwww), and the nurse-to patient-ratio is high.

I remember feeling this way waiting to get into nursing school. It messes with self-esteem. Am I good enough, what do they have that I don't, etc. I know it is not accurate to feel that way, but human nature takes over sometimes.
