Hiya folks!

It's a bit early, but since the application period opens in a couple of months, I thought I'd start this topic to share support/encouraging words/info/nervousness.

Is anyone else already excited for next September?

Hi all! I had a question about admissions GPA. I have been taking post bacc classes, will these courses be included in my most recent 30 credits GPA? Even though they have been taken after completing my degree? I haven't be able to find the answer to this and UBC hasn't responded to my emails. Thanks so much!

Hi,
I am in the same situation as you.
I would assume that these credits would be taken into account based on the information given on their admissions page; however, I've also read conflicting answers to this question.
I've decide to email admissions myself, so I'll get back to you as soon as I hear from them!

Hey thanks so much! It sucks taking on the time and financial investment of new courses without knowing if they will be counted. I will also do the same and let you know if I hear back from my emails!

Has anyone applied yet? I saw on the UBC nursing page that applications are open but when I go under "change of degree program" it won't allow me to choose the session. Unsure if this is a bug. Sorry if this is a redundant question!

Hi everyone,

just checked CASPer website for registration, and it looks like there are some dates available as early as October and November. Any thoughts on whether it is possible to take it before we officially submitted an application? When is everyone planning on taking CASPer?

It might be different for everyone, but I'm taking it net year because my schedule is really hectic this semester. So I'm guessing whatever works best with your schedule would be time to take it, as long as it doesn't pass the due date.


I don't think you need to take it before applying, but correct me if I'm wrong!

Apparently, UBC Enrolment Services evaluates transcripts, not the nursing program itself. However, they mean it literally when they say "the most recent completed 30 non-nursing, transferable credits" -- it's exactly just that, so any (transferable) credits completed after a bachelor's degree will count towards your admission average!

Hi all!

I just put in my initial application today for UBC. I’m really nervous for this application cycle but I’m excited to stay in touch with all of you during the process!!

Do supplemental applications open late October? (And is this when you send in transcripts, personal statement, references etc?) 

If the 10 most recent courses only covers some of the courses in a semester do they just include ALL for that semester for the admission average?

Hey future nurses!

I’m a US international student and wondering if they prefer locals or do they look at international students application separately? 
For cGPA I currently have around 4.0-3.67, not much volunteering but currently helping a nursing home, past environmental club leader and working retail about 2 years. Haven’t taken my CASPer. Really nervous about that. If I had around 3 points in my CASPer what are my chances? Any tips would be great! We got this! ?
