UBC September 2014 Applicants

Published

Hello :)

Anyone else applying for UBC's September 2014 intake? If so, let's get through this process by communicating with each other! :nailbiting:

I just briefly browsed through previous threads and it looks like people that were up to number 14 on the list noted that they were offered a position, but I know not all people post on here. I think I will accept the job and then IF I do get offered a position at UBC will have to decide what to do. How about for folks that were offered a spot in both UBC and BCIT, what will you accept?

Hi everyone, I got my acceptance today as well! Looking forward to the move from California to Vancouver. Cheers to the last summer before the next chapter in our lives!

I also received my acceptance letter this afternoon! I searched for the facebook group but am having troubles finding it. Does anyone know if they actually need our official transcripts by June 15th or can we show them that we are done the course and that our transcript is on route.

I can't find the facebook group either I'm not sure why. But I emailed nursing before with the same question as you about transcripts and here was what they replied:

We accept transcripts that are postmarked by June 15th. Also, by this date, you will have to email us an unofficial transcript showing that the course(s) were/was successfully completed.

Congrats to everyone who got in this year. i have been put one the reserve list as #1 so im pretty confident ill get an offer. Does anyone know if they give offers to people on reserve as they come or do they wait till after the June 15th deadline?

Is there anyone else from the Kelowna/Okanagan area that will be in the program this fall!

Hi all!

Ive been following the forum for a while now but haven't posted anything till now. First off, congratulations to everyone for making it this far and to those of you who have been offered a spot! Can only imagine your excitement.

Secondly, I heard back some pretty disappointing news that I have been wait listed. I am number 14 so I'm trying to stay positive and really hoping for the best. Thought that maybe it would be nice to keep in contact with the fellow wait listers (and everyone else) to keep eachother sane!

I emailed Cathy Ebbehoj, the admissions advisor Ruxandra told us to contact regarding any further information on admissions and such. She replied saying that there is no online site we can go to to check our wait list status however we can email Ruxandra (she said to wait after the long weekend) and she can keep us in the loop.

Keeping my my fingers crossed for each and every one of us. Not loving this feeling but hopefully it all turns out.

Hope to to hear from some of you soon!

Hey everyone!

Congrats to everyone who has already been accepted! I am looking forward to meeting all of you at orientation in August! For those of you who are waitlisted.. don't lose hope! I was also shortlisted at BCIT and they aren't sending out their acceptances until the end of this month. There may be some people who decide that BCIT's program fits their learning style better.

Thanks for the encouragement, kristenmp!

On that note. Is there anyone who has been accepted to multiple programs who will be rejecting UBC's invitation or on the reserve list for that matter?

Congratulations to all who received the offer. Just curious if anyone on this forum who succeeded on the interview is not native English speaker. With no right or wrong answers on situational questions is there any chance for not-native speaker to be competitive on mini-interviews?

I am not a native English speaker, first language is french

I don't want to give anyone false hope but I may be declining my offer. I currently live in Toronto and have received a few offers here. Also, my partner is a medical resident in Toronto and it would be very very difficult for him relocate with me to B.C and I don't know if it is a wise decision to relocate when I would be looking to return to work in Toronto afterwards. I will keep everyone updated, this is going to be a very difficult decision. : (
