UBC 2022 Nursing

Published

Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing.  Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.

Hey guys, does anyone know for the Additional Learning and Accomplishments component, is it OK to mention our volunteer experiences already listed in the List of Work, Volunteering, Community, and Family Service component? I am not sure if significant overlap is a deal breaker for admissions but there isn't a lot of word count for those sections so could we mention them twice? Thanks in advance!

I would say don't repeat anything, I did mine quite a while ago I don't have much volunteering as this is my second career. I can't help much, try thinking as though you are in the room with Admin staff they have 800 applications...be truthful, be honest and be sincere...best of luck

I actually had the same question. I don't have any accomplishments like the ones they provide as an example so can we just add our volunteer experiences to this section? Does anybody know?

Hey guys, so I recently just discovered that we were supposed to fill out that prerequisite survey by December 8th. I do not know how I missed that in my emails and I am actually quite embarrassed but since I didn't do it do you think my application is void now or won't be considered?

I'm not so sure...Email or phone advising and talk to them that is the best bet

I just realized this too.. does anyone know what to do in this case?

Does anyone who wrote Casper in Dec have their results posted to UBC? I wrote Jan 13 says results are pending, and I'm getting UBC emails telling me I'm missing Casper results and they are due Feb 3... (screaming into the void)

According to Canvas, the Feb. 3 deadline refers to writing the test. I'm writing mine on Feb.1.

"Please remember that you must complete (write) your CASPer exam by February 3, 2022.

As long as you selected one of the available CASPer test dates for UBC-Vancouver BSN program, and paid the test and distribution fees to Altus Assessment before you complete the test, your score report will be accepted by the program. The program is aware that it will take a couple weeks to receive your score report after you completed the test."

Did anyone get like a confirmation email after they completed it? (the prerequisite survey) Like I literally can't remember if I did it or not. I think I did but I'm not too sure.

hi everyone! I had submitted my transcripts from uni and highschool quite a while ago in the "document upload" section of the application however there isn't anywhere for me to check if these were received as the spot to upload disappears once you've uploaded it? Is it better to mail them in?

I wrote mine on Dec 2 and it took a full 4 weeks after Casper released my results for UBC to receive/update the SSC with my results. So I'd say don't worry!

If you contact admissions they will be able to let you know if they received it. I had some issues with submitting my transcripts but they were able to help sort it out.
