Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing. Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.
Hey everyone,
Question about transcripts: I completed my undergrad + HAP courses at UBC. However, I'm currently doing a graduate program at Queen's for which I just uploaded my unofficial interim transcript to the SSC and also requested for an official transcript be mailed directly to UBC Admissions. It'll take a couple of business days so I'm really worried as it won't meet the Jan 31 deadline. Has anyone been in a similar situation and contacted Admissions?
The unofficial one I've uploaded looks legit but weirdly doesn't have the institution name on it.
Thank you!

I spoke to admissions at UBC and they assured me that any transcript received will be post marked to the day they received it. They have a bit of a backlog to go through. Ex if they received your transcript today, but didn't open it until February 10th, they would attach it to your profile with today's date :))

Thank you for your quick response! I wasn't super clear but today I uploaded my unofficial Queen's interim transcript, but UBC requires an official one which I totally misinterpreted before. I put in a request for the official one to be sent to UBC today; I'm afraid it'll be postmarked by the postal service on like Feb 1 or 2, which would count as late. I really hope UBC considers my unofficial transcript as "meeting the deadline" while waiting for the official one to come in! ?

I was under the impression that we were to upload an unofficial transcript for the application, then later they will request an official one to be sent if we get accepted into the program. Am I wrong?
" Late applications are not accepted.
We accept official transcripts postmarked by the final transcript deadline.
All transcripts (interim & final) must be official and submitted directly from the institution issuing.
All transcripts submitted to UBC Undergraduate Admissions (see below for instructions)
If a deadline falls on the weekend or a statutory holiday, it will be extended to the next business day.
This is already reflected in the published deadlines. "
4. Interim Official Transcript Deadline: January 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm PST
---there is still time..but no I don't think it works that way...you have to get an official transcript sent to them they won't look at uploaded documents

I contacted admissions twice to clarify this, and they told me exactly what you're saying.
Quote:
Mail 1: "If you are admitted to UBC, we will then request that you arrange for official copies of your transcripts to be sent directly to UBC."
Mail 2: "Though the website mentions this [that we have to arrange for official copies of our transcripts to be sent directly to UBC], like I said earlier, we are being more flexible during this admission cycle as there may be delays in mail/international postage, etc. We only require copies of your official transcripts to be uploaded (which it seems you already have) at this time."
I'm also really confused about the whole thing, because to me it seems like people are getting different instructions from admissions. Anyways, I go with what they instructed me to do in the two mails.

uploaded documents will be always unofficial, so phone admissions tell them they are there and work on getting the officials ones sent out!
