Hey Everyone!
I'm hoping to apply for UBC nursing 2013, but I am a little worried as I haven't volunteered for 2 years. My question is, if I get back into volunteering this summer will my chances of being accepted be higher?
Thank you!
I believe everyone who was at the interview should have heard back by now... perhaps try emailing them to let them know you have not received any information yet? As far as I know, those on the reserve list have also received an email. On that note, I was wondering if anyone else is also on the reserve list? If those on the list are accepted, do you think they will be notified before June 15th (since the email stated "You will be contacted after June 15, 2013 with an update regarding your place on the reserve list", and to not inquire before that date).
A final question to those who were accepted: I was wondering when the last date to reply with your acceptance/rejection is? Just curious to know if it is around the June 15th date :)
Hi. That's right, those who were accepted, must accept/reject before June 15th. For those who on the wait list... last year #13 got an offer in July. Good luck and see you in August!
I am confused why I haven't received an email at all. Did your application status change online? Thanks :)
I was offered a seat and my online status has not changed. The email states:
"Access to SSC to accept/decline the admission offer will be available within 10 days from the receipt of this email."
I received the email on April 25th so I'm assuming it will be updated next week! That's really odd you haven't heard anything. Definitely contact UBC! Or check your spam?
I will be applying to UBC's nursing program not next year, but the following year, and I've somewhat become addicted to these forum posts! Seeing you all go through the application, interview, and waiting really makes me anxious! As a future international student, UBC's nursing program will be the only one available to me in Vancouver (so it's kind of do or die).
I just have a question to other international students who got accepted this year- do you have any tips for me? My GPA will be high enough, and I will volunteer weekly until I apply, but what can I do to make myself stand out (hoping that I reach the interview part of the application)? Thank you!
Also congratulations to those who got accepted. :)
Hi everyone! I had only a 74% GPA but still managed to get an interview based on my supplemental application and volunteer/life experience etc.... I am #11 on the reserve list (waiting list). Does anyone know how many people on the reserve list usually (based on previous years) gain acceptance into the program??? ahhhh this is so stressful!
Heard back from UBC for some reason I did not get the first email. I am number #7 on the reserve list. Does anyone know what grade we need to have in A&P and if this grade will impact my status? Thanks :)
Congratulations Leda85, you are almost there, you just need to not to fail A/P now, any grade will be enough and usually top 10 on the wait list get in.
Hi everyone! I actually haven't signed onto allnurses.com for nearly 2 years, and now that I'm about to attend my graduation ceremony for the UBC Nursing class of 2013, I had a sudden thought to login to this site!
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone for making it this far!!! The competition to get into this program is FIERCE, so be very proud of everything you've achieved thus far! I still remember being in your position 2 years ago...if you guys check my post history, I was on the waitlist for this program 2 years ago - I remember I was #15 and I was offered a position on July 11, 2011 (..I still remember the exact date - my life was changed forever with that admission offer haha!).
Good luck, everyone!!! For everyone entering into the nursing profession, you're in for an amazing adventure :).
