  1. From what I know, I believe you can apply as many times as you like! Just to be sure, you should consider emailing the Admissions Office to ask them. I know that one of my classmates in my cohort had applied 4 times before they were accepted! But once they were accepted, they were kicking MAJOR BUTT in the program :) - I never would have even guessed they had to apply 4 times before being accepted! BEST OF LUCK to all those applying and those still waitlisted! I have no idea how the waitlist movement looks like right now, but I'm still hoping the VERY BEST FOR YOU GUYS!!! I'm looking forward to meeting you out in the hospitals, my future nursing colleagues! :)
  2. Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank everyone who has been emailing me questions - I'm happy to help wherever I can haha! :). As for how many people got off the waitlist during my year of entry, I have no idea what the exact number was..but I was told by someone who had entered the 2009 cohort onthis forum that at least 17 people got off the waitlist that year! Don't give up hope-I have heard of stories of people getting into the program just a few days before the start of class...and be proud that you made it on the waitlist-that's a great achievement, considering how competitive admission is :).
  3. Hi there! :) Ah, the start of nursing school - I still remember all the excitement and the great energy! I'm wishing the VERY BEST for all of you! I would definitely love to answer any questions you may have. I'm currently studying for the national licensing exam (the $700 exam required to get our RN designation ), but I will definitely make time to answer your questions during my study breaks . For anyone who has questions about the program or the nursing profession in general, feel free to email me at [email protected]. Keep in mind that I will be speaking from MY PERSONAL perspective and experiences from the program and it's a good idea to get a large variety of opinions, but I will definitely do my best to answer any questions, and share my thoughts and experiences with you. Take care, everyone!!
  4. Hi everyone! I actually haven't signed onto allnurses.com for nearly 2 years, and now that I'm about to attend my graduation ceremony for the UBC Nursing class of 2013, I had a sudden thought to login to this site! CONGRATULATIONS to everyone for making it this far!!! The competition to get into this program is FIERCE, so be very proud of everything you've achieved thus far! I still remember being in your position 2 years ago...if you guys check my post history, I was on the waitlist for this program 2 years ago - I remember I was #15 and I was offered a position on July 11, 2011 (..I still remember the exact date - my life was changed forever with that admission offer haha!). Good luck, everyone!!! For everyone entering into the nursing profession, you're in for an amazing adventure :).
  5. Hi everyone, I just wanted to let those who are still waiting patiently on the waitlist, that I received an offer of admission this morning!!!!!! HANG IN THERE - there's still hope :redbeathe....I received my offer today and it's not even the 15th yet!!!:) .........and yes, I actually did start crying tears of joy when I saw the email haha!
  6. CONGRATZ, elle! Yeaaaah, I just checked my email and I was notified that I'm #1 on the waitlist now haha.....there's still hope!! I think if I get an acceptance email, I'll definitely start crying tears of joy haha......this wait has definitely been quite a journey haha!
  7. Wow, thanks for your story of hope, Allemande - that actually did make me feel better lol!! And krasmussen, thanks for letting us know :)......so July 15th is the new magic number LOL! And the wait continues......
  8. Ya, I'll definitely let you guys know right away when she responds back to me! :) Well, even if all the offers have been sent out, since you are #1 on the waiting list right now, I think there still might be a chance you could get in........$100 deposit isn't that large of a deposit! There may be people who pay the deposit to keep their options open but drop the program by the start of September.....
  9. Ok, for sure - I'll def let you know ASAP when I hear something from them!!! Ya, I emailed them earlier today but I got an automatic email saying that Ms. ******** is not going to be in on Friday (tomorrow)...so I'm guessing she'll reply back to me next week......I'll keep you guys posted!
  10. I know this is kind of a sensitive topic right now, but I was wondering, sidney or elle, did you two hear anything from UBC Nursing?
  11. Hi, thanks so much, sidney! :) It's such a scary AND exciting time right now lol.....I've been waiting for the 15th for so long.....regardless what the results are, I'm just happy to find out once and for all :)......And regardless of whatever happens, I'd like to thank everyone for all their awesome support here!! The support here was so incredible during this stressful time :heartbeat.....I'll never forget it :).
  12. CONGRATULATIONS, HugBug! elle09, I hope you will hear good news soon as well!! (...you're right before me :))
  13. I just wanted to say thanks so much to everyone who's keeping this thread alive...the wait has been stressful but the support here really helps :)...GO NURSES!

  15. Thanks for all the support, guys! :) You won't believe how much I appreciate it :heartbeat......it's definitely a ridiculously stressful time for me right now, but I'll definitely try to stay positive!
