UBC Nursing - September 2013

Published

Hey Everyone!

I'm hoping to apply for UBC nursing 2013, but I am a little worried as I haven't volunteered for 2 years. My question is, if I get back into volunteering this summer will my chances of being accepted be higher?

Thank you!

I just got rejected too I am super bummed!! I had a GPA of 81.2 % my supplemental ranking was a 3?? booooooooooooo

My GPA was 74.9% and supplemental ranking was 2 :( really wish UBC wasn't my first choice

me too nme1990 I moved to Vancouver hoping to get in....wahhhhhhhhhhhh ..I guess I didn't have enough volunteer experience ...

what is supplemental ranking out of? 10?

Oh no! That is terrible :( I didn't move but I was 100% ready to, there is nowhere else I want to go. Maybe I will wait and try again next year..

Rankings were like this: 1 = in top 25%, 2 = in top 50%, 3 = in top 75%, and 4 in bottom 25%

supplemental ranking is out of 4

yes I will definitely reapply next year...How many years of volunteer experience do you have?

I'm surprised that I got a 4 on my extracurriculars and a 3.6 GPA must really be that awful. We all tried and I guess we will never know exactly what they were looking for. Too much must have been a bad thing? I knew I had to do some backups at this point. We will be nurses one day, don't let one school let you decide that. :)

Well it depends, I've done a little bit of volunteering here and there throughout the last 3 years of my degree, but never in a hospital actually. I also founded a club at my university as well as a small NPO. I had a good variety of things, but I think my GPA was too low to hold up the other end of things.

Does anyone understand how they rank supplementals ? I'm confused I got a 3 out of 4 I am assuming one is the highest score that you can get.

For those who got a 1 can you please give us some insight on your supplemental.

Thanks for the motivation ehlehnah
