UBC Nursing - September 2013

Hey Everyone!

I'm hoping to apply for UBC nursing 2013, but I am a little worried as I haven't volunteered for 2 years. My question is, if I get back into volunteering this summer will my chances of being accepted be higher?

For those of you who received interview invitations today, would you mind telling us what your GPA in your last 30 credits were??

Those of you who accepted your invites already (via email), did the admissions people reply back to confirm that they received your acceptance of your interview offer?

Has anyone received a confirmation email yet? I think I'll send another email tomorrow and call Tuesday if I don't hear back.

For those of you who had relatively low GPAs, like me, I just received an invitation-- so don't lose hope!

My GPA for my last 30 credits was around 3.0 (WAY lower if calculated cumulatively) and though I initially thought my supplemental was pretty strong, based on some of the posts here, I guess I'm pretty average (volunteered in a hospital for 2 years, various work experience, involvement in a few clubs, etc.). I'm from out of province (Ontario) and will be completing my degree in biochemistry this year.

I'm happy to announce I just received an invitation today! :)

Does anyone have advice for me; I have a final exam scheduled at literally the EXACT time of my interview!

Hopefully I get one on Tuesday....my GPA for applying was 3.8 and I have done lots of volunteering in the hospital, long-term care, etc as well as lots of other stuff....ahhh the wait is killing me!!

well since everyone has to respond by tuesday, im sure any declined spots will be filled up by wednesday at the latest. anyone who does not receive a declined spot will probably get a rejection letter next week. like they said, we will all know where we stand next week

Same here the wait is the worst. Hopeful for Tuesday as well. The website does say we would be informed by the end of next week for sure

Hey everyone. I received my invite today at 3:10 PM and my interview is on April 19th. I have a degree in health science and my GPA for my last 30 credits is 3.7. I think Tuesday they will be sending out more invites so good luck to everyone! :)
